Hey guys as my title states I am looking for a 10" sub that can handle approximately 3000 watts. My current setup and it is a good one is the JL Audio 10W7 and the amp is a DD Audio DM1500. The sound quality is amazing and it hits good in this Toyota Tacoma but I am looking for more. The enclosure style is an over the seat style as this is a double cab truck and there's literally zero room under or behind the seats. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

So you're planning on getting another DD DM1500 to get your 3000 watts or what? You're gonna need upgraded electricals to handle that just FYI. Is it possible to move up to a 12" sub? How much room do you wanna sacrifice for your box? There isn't that many 10" subs in the market that can legitimately handle 3k. Neo subs comes to mind but what is your overall goal? Do you still want the sound quality while being louder? You don't necessarily need to run a bunch of power to get loud you know.. you can simply focus on your enclosure and the right sub and you will get louder already.

If you switch to a 12". 3,500 RMS.

Look at that nsv...The increase in motor depth On it or any similar 10” May present more challenges/limitations with a new enclosure than improved output result and you will still need a bigger enclosure. Consider Grabbing another 10w7 and switch to a Brazilian full bridge. You’ll still need electrical upgrade but not as much as two half bridge amps that will crush your Tacoma electrical. Or switch to two 1k rms 10’s in 3-3.5 cubes ported on a full bridge amp and it will blow that w7 10 away. Probably just about the same price since both scenarios are going to require a new enclosure, another/new amp, and new/additional subs.

for example:
2 10” xfl’s - about $320
Taramps md3k - $220

I did a quick search in 10w7’s and they’re well over the combined cost of above idea/recommendation And probably another dd1500 Alone.

I don't think I mentioned it in the original post but I do have a DD Audio M3 that's where the whole 3000 watts issue came into play. Very concerned about the electrical in this new truck and want to stick with one 10".

What does very concerned about The electrical of your truck mean? That You recognize you’re going to spend another 400$ On electrical
Upgrades to get anwywhere near 3k out of that half bridge amp. And that that dc sub is nearly 700 and you’re still going to have one 10”. Is your current w7 in sealed or ported?

the solution you’re considering is the most expensive route (new expensive 10, new
Enclosure, significant electrical upgrade) and probably not the best swing for potential output increase You inquired on.

That DD M3 would go very nicely with a 10" DD Z3

That would be my pick if I was looking for a super sub and was limited to a 10.

Z4's look crazy.... but only 12 and up

Yeah I'm well aware of the costs involved and what it takes to support a good system. Alternator, wiring, batteries, etc !!! I'm coming from a walled Tahoe with 2 18's lol....I guess I'm wanting to have my cake and eat it too. My enclosure is very good so I don't want to change that and sacrifice back seat space.

Understand, all makes sense. Is that box sealed though? That’s going to make a significant difference going to ported

Be sure to see the sub specs. It should tell you the ideal sealed enclosure size.
