How do you know if your sub is hitting to hard?

you must seem to think i do not know what i am doing cause thats what you keep implying. i have had more than 1 9.0 before and i am well aware of how to set my gains and how to hear a bad signal. I also called zapco and asked them what to set the levels at and i do know how to adjust according to songs just cause i dont know everything doesnt i mean dont know certain other things well. I have been running zapco equipment for almost 3 years now so i know how to do my stuff and this is my 3rd 9.0 i have had the only reason it is my 3rd is cause i sold my other 2 when i had them. The only reason i asked for help is so i was making sure i was doing it right. I was once showed by another dealer but i wanted to see what they would tell me as well. My dealer also agrees that the sub should be able to handle that power. Anyways like i said i will find out on friday and post more back to here.

You called Zapco to ask them how to set your gains? I bet the Zapco techs all got a good laugh after that phone call.
Not to pile on, but saying to called the amplifier manufacturer to ask what to set your gains at is pretty much admitting you don't know what you are doing. A real pro wouldn't have called Zapco, he'd have known to call the auto manufacturer and ask what level to play the radio volume at instead.

i asked him b/c my amp was going into protection mode no matter what gain setting i had it at and theres nothing wrong with the amp cause i just got it back from zapco. Thats why i called cause i needed to know what code the vfd was saying to me and i was asking them what to set the gains at for that reason. I know how to tune my system.

update took it to dealer today they checked it out seems to be that one of the 3 subs is bad but they dont know which one. So they multimetered it to check the ohm load they all say the correct load so... they are going to deal with it and get me a new sub and build me a ported box so yea.... its gonna be bad *** when it gets finished.
