It's pretty crazy.. You see like big builds like 12 12s on 40k and 8 15s on 30k or 6 18 on 30k and doing 158db at 40hz+ and he has 4 15s on 15k doing 160db plus and 159db music demos... It's crazy impressive

I always loved doing hte single or dual woofer builds. the reason i did the 4 15s was becasue i was able to do something few people did. put up 150-153 on music and it got low hit hard and i could cross it over @ 120hz with very little distortion. it was truely a high output low distortion design. very very few installs ive ever hear had the transparency mine did much less at those levels. trust me once im finish with these woofers and you see a few installs you will have no choice but to respect them.
i do great work bare none. ill never build or release a woofer that doesnt sound excellent and get loud enough to be consider by even SPL freaks. Im not saying im smarter and better than anyone or my shits better,m what i will say is i love doing this. i love competition and I love to help people and learn. so if i can be tough somehting i jump on it like souldrop jumps on adulbrichs virgin *** hole..

im incoprotating a full pole copper faraday ring to stablize inductance absorb back EMF and stablize the stay magnetic fields outside the gap. but more so than that I am using long coils with huge toplates that give better cooling in TWO ways over most comventional builds and im keeping mass low as possible so the are highly efficent and highly linear. things been bad here in my home town. about 6 mothns ago over 20000 people got laid off when the oil field dropped out. including me but that wont stop me from doing what i love. one day your gonna get a sub from me to test. if you dont like it, so be it but im going to get you oponion along with several dealers i have been firend with for years as well..

oh **** and the point of me posteding was that the loudest build i did for some one was 2 solo xs with about 8kw and he managed to do a 164 in SS 1-2 which was just shy on the record. which i wanna say was 166 with the BEAST(9918s) and like 20kw

just do the single hds 312 D2 for now if you like how it sounds, add another one in the future, redo the box and wire .5 ohms.

Download torres box calculator and figure out how much space you have.

just do the single hds 312 D2 for now if you like how it sounds, add another one in the future, redo the box and wire .5 ohms.
Download torres box calculator and figure out how much space you have.

But if I got two would I have enough trunk space to build a proper box ?

like I said much better woofers out there. they are undermotored. pretty much a poor free air design.

if you want to do two, might want to go with american bass XFL or sundown SA series subs. Dont base your decisions on RMS, rms does not mean louder. The other two subs can easily go toe to toe with the HDS series and they require a much smaller enclosure to do so. 2 cubes as opposed to hds's 2.5 cubes.

if you want to save a few dollars go with the xcon 15. it would out do a pair of the HDS 3.0s and require about 3.8-4.2 cubes depending on how peaky you want it.

the SSA audio woofers kick *** and are a great bargin.

i modeled up a box AFTER parameter shifts aka real world parameters and I see them doing nicely n 4.2 tuned to 36. not terriblly peaky and has lower group delay as compared ot the HDS 12s.

if you think the AQ will handle the .5 ohm load(which is will if ya upgrade your alt to a 240 or so) you could get a dual 1 ohm an it should get a solid 2k.

can you fit this box?

16.5H x 35Wx20D? F3 is 27 hz peak centered @ 38 hz with a 6 bd peak with a faily shallow roll off. at 30 your looking at 0db peak and at 65 hz a 4db peak. so ideall any where from about 36-70 it woul WANG and it will still drop down to 27 or so. if you happen to loar the port closer to a wall it will reinforce that lowen abit. and naturally the cabin will make that slope abit flatter below 35..

i agree. not a fan of the SQ HDS3s. while the HDCs are bad budget woofers i wouldnt use any of the lower line woofers.

in a car or an suv? if hes getting that score in a car im not surprised.. the smaller the cabin the bigger the numbers

You have no idea what you talking about. Try and do a 160db in any vehicle. I doubt you will, it takes knowledge to get that loud In any vehicle

your part of the many ppl who think hitting a 160 is so hard like dude.. ive seen to many ppl at shows and on youtube hit 160 with nothing to crazy, setups from 2 18s to 6 12s.. kicker 12s at that. burps only of course
