Have a AQ2200, no sub..

Okay I'm completely f*cking confused and literally about to lose my mind over this. So I put the sub back in the box wired it parallel. I adjusted the gain to a proper level, frequencies, and then plugged it the bass control knob cuz it has the clipping light. So I kinda used that as a reference. Mind you I did not install the big 3 yet. But I played a few songs. Obviously some songs are louder then others bass wise. The thing I'm confused about is my Fi q sub I had prior to this sounded so much louder regardless of the song choice. Then it seemed like my car was over heating cuz it went in it's cool down mode. So I shut it off, the amp also felt hotter then it normally did before I wired it this way. I'm assuming that's because I need to install the big 3. Overall I'm not to thrilled with how loud this gets but at the same time I know nothing about the big 3 upgrade and how much effect it has. Now I'm beyond lost.

What was wrong? I bet she hammers now!
First of all I did what u said, so thank you for the advice! Next I tuned the gain properly, for real this time. The subsonic was turned all the way up for some reason, fixed that. The lp frequency I set properly. Bass boost has been off. It was all tuning. The clipping light did not blink at all turned up 33/35 on the hu.

I just need more knowledge on how important the big 3 is and how much better it sounds with a better flow of current. Need to install that next.

I'm not sure it makes it sound better but the way I was told to think about it is like if you were trying to put a fire out (provide power for your amp) its gonna be easier to put it out or in this case provide power with a fire hose compared to using a straw to put it out. In other words it pretty much just helps the power flow making it easier putting less stress on your electrical/amp

the big three will lower resistance abit and keep voltage more stablized. you wont hear a difference but it will keep your amp runinng abit cooler.

i still say that box is too big unless you want a peaky lowend monster. the FI Q is a nice woofer. its abit more efficent above 50 hz than the sundown but the sundown is on another level. Id sugguest putting a solid 3kw on her..

This whole thread full of ..... could have been avoided way before.... See what a one track mind gets you? Everyone told you that something was wrong if you couldnt get that sub to have decent output.

Big 3 will not likely get you any noticeable gains on loudness unless your stock wire was 10 gauge or something... It mainly just keeps your equipment and car's electrical system healthy and prevents disasters waiting to happen. a 2nd battery will also help a little bit during prolonged bass sessions, you wont lose loudness etc... Overall electrical upgrades are necessary when you run past 1.5k of power.

Once you get a 3500 or a 4k amp to that sub, you'll see it wake up as well.

Sounds like a cop out bro. If you claim something is easy, you better put your money where your mouth is. a 160 on an audiocontrol meter is easy, a 160 on a termlab magnum is a lifelong goal for some, especially on a budget.
its not easy, but some ppl can pull it off and make it look easy. and that's exactly what a lot of ppl are doing. however, you don't see to many 160db on music builds

your part of the many ppl who think hitting a 160 is so hard like dude.. ive seen to many ppl at shows and on youtube hit 160 with nothing to crazy, setups from 2 18s to 6 12s.. kicker 12s at that. burps only of course

Lol first post it's super easy... Next post it's not easy

I dont care for numbers enough to put in effort to try to get a 160
I don't care for numbers either, but I don't think a 160 is easy

I think so too

His friend's HHR is a "music build"

Why would you have to put in effort if its so easy? Your not making sense.
Yep

Lol first post it's super easy... Next post it's not easy
^This

never said its super easy* never said I can do it*
You said it was easy. If it's easy, then do it
