Have a AQ2200, no sub..

I don't care for numbers either, but I don't think a 160 is easy

I think so too

His friend's HHR is a "music build"

Yep

^This

You said it was easy. If it's easy, then do it
then you wonder! why some ppl never want to put their set up on the meter.. a bunch of naggin. im fine with my -110 dB at 1 hurt with my 4 18s.

No people don't meter because they are scared they won't be loud. @adulbrich cough cough

This whole thread full of ..... could have been avoided way before.... See what a one track mind gets you? Everyone told you that something was wrong if you couldnt get that sub to have decent output.
Big 3 will not likely get you any noticeable gains on loudness unless your stock wire was 10 gauge or something... It mainly just keeps your equipment and car's electrical system healthy and prevents disasters waiting to happen. a 2nd battery will also help a little bit during prolonged bass sessions, you wont lose loudness etc... Overall electrical upgrades are necessary when you run past 1.5k of power.

Once you get a 3500 or a 4k amp to that sub, you'll see it wake up as well.
Lol I know, I get stubborn af sometimes. But I got a useful info out of this and I needed it. I appreciate your help.

And thanks for explaining the big 3, gotta install that soon.

but if its loud to your ear that's all that matters. there are setups that do big on the meter but sound less louder than set ups that lack on the meter. that's just the way it is. you see that occasionally.

now we playing eye spy?

i do agree with bass and beer here. my system didnt meter impressivly at the dash but over 150 at the head rest it a true testimate to how loud it is at your ears.

massive next show let me see windows down at the head rest.

it really is different when you design a system to meter at the dash and at the head rest. and i didnt care about sealed off cuz when i was listening my windows where down..

Its hell of a lot easier with windows down to get loud. I gain several dbs with the windows down vs up.

depends on the cabin/box woofer power levels but generally yea it is louder. thing is typically you cabins res frequency is high. when you roll your windows down its like venting a box. like going for sealed to ported. still ten years ago with 6kw or so 4 15s b piller wall 150+ music at the head rest with a **** flat response was not easy. i could play almost any song and get 150 at your head.. from thought altering high notes to bowl moving low notes..
