This.

Everyone is so goddamn sensitive these days and can't take a spec of criticism or comprehend good advice when it's offered.

Fucking 10 ply
Nobody critized me for one. They just said don't buy Skar without any explanation like I'm supposed to know the history of a company that has a AD on Amazon.

Then i get called butthurt and shyt for fkn listening to you people and returning the shit.

Wtf is this the twilight zone.

Hopefully ppl at SMD are more understanding and helpful.

Be willing to ask a broader question instead of a detailed question on a route you’re undecided on. You were at two evils and a new amp now you’re at another d2 sa12. Grab another one of those subs and then buy an amp that is stable down to half ohm. Most Reputable Korean board are half ohm stable but you don’t have to spend 500$ on one, then get new enclosure built.

Tyvm. Also they only require 1500w rms so that's a bonus.

I apologise to everyone if I came across like an arse I'm just 100 % ignorant about all of this.

2nd the adding of another d2 SA in a proper enclosure on a .5 stable amp.
don't let .5 scare you after rise you wont be loading the amp with a 1/2 ohm full tilt.
Sundown SA series are dollar for dollar some of the best subs you can buy even though i hate being a sundown nuthugger their products as well as their customer service while isnt flawless are better then most car audio manufacturers.

I did purchase directly that's the price -15% for the sale they had. They still emailed me the invoice as a receipt.

IDC at this point I have $1500 to spend. I'll figure it out.
Okay I'll take your word, even if you did buy it directly, those prices are insane.

I'd advise you to get that 270a alt /w/ an upgraded agm up front /w/ big3 and most likely some secondary agm in back if you are really going .5 on anything 2k+...

Now its comin thru. See we’re not all just a bunch of trolls waiting to swarm on new folk (I hate the word noob because I’m definitely still a noob in respect to my electrical understanding).

As shredder mentioned, bigger alt will be good to have no matter what and know that it’s better on all your equipment to run a bigger amp turned down vs trying to push every watt you can out of a 1k- 1200 watt amp that is .5 ohm stable. Efficiency matters here.

Buy that 270a alt... car audio just seems to be one upgrade after another.. a Skv 2500 @ .5... meh... imo a decent 3.5k+ is in your future.
It's never enough Op
2 sa 12's can deliver if the enclosure is configured right and built correct.
What do you really think this system will achieve? 2500 @ .5...
Cone limited setups have a limit...
2 Sa12s tho?... 145+ with clamped rated power.
Once the electrical is done then focus on the little things, but understand that once electrical is done...enclosure is everything.
Jmho...

orion must have some serious delays in production because a couple months ago my brother was wanting a xtr 2500 and all that was out there was priced at msrp
Repricing according to demand?.
Seems every boner is becoming more expensive anymore.
Just buy in and I'm sure you will get a good deal.

I found a sundown dealer in Tampa that also builds boxes so I went to see him.

His opinion for my trunk is just keep the single sa12 in a 4th order bandpass box that he will build for my trunk.

Does that sound like my trunk isn't big enough for 2 sa12s or maybe he didnt realize I kinda wanted to run 2 12s vs 1 ???

We did 2 Zv4 12s on a FSD3800 in a 14 corolla years ago.
Ok cool, maybe I need give him a call to make things clear.

Other than that from what I've been reading the terramps amps are good as long as they are fed the proper power so in my case with only big 3 upgrade and a Northstar under the hood Im probably just gonna buy a soundqubed amp around 1500rms

No, get a bigger amp and a voltmeter wired into the amplifier input termainsl and turn the gain down if it's too much voltage drop.

Let's say I have a 3k w amp(not even thinking about buying that big but for instance) and that single sa12 could I have underpowered a large amp if only pushing a much smaller speaker?

Guess another way to word it would be does the speaker itself factor into how many amperes the amp pulls from my electrical system?
