whay to set amp gains at

Where should I set my gains to be safe. My amp is alpine mrp f300 which is 50 RMS @ 4ohm and speakers are 80 RMS @ 4ohm Rockford fosgate t165-s

There is no easier way I don't have all those tools. I thought it would be easy as. If my amp out outs 50 RMS and speakers are set to 80 RMS then I would set the gain to 70 on the amp

No it just has min nom 0.5v and max

you could use a DD1

Well your amp has a .2-4v input sensitivity.. so if you ratio that out, it should be barely below half gain i believe.

Assuming you have a 2 volt preout from your HU.

go to walmart and buy a volt meter... I got mine for 25 bucks and could potentially save u ur speakers. they are very easy to operate
