which set will be best?

Hello everyone,

I’m planning to upgrade the front speakers in my Audi TT (8S) and need advice on which of these sets would be the best choice for sound quality. Currently, I have an In Phase USW300 subwoofer installed in the trunk. I mainly listen to electronic music, pop, and rock.

Here are my options:

  • Eton POW 160.2
  • Musway MG 6.2C
  • Audison APK 165 2 Ohm
  • an amplifier
Which of these sets would you recommend the most? I'm focused on achieving the best possible sound quality, unless there’s something better available at a similar price. Thanks for any suggestions!

either speaker will work great. You will need an amp, so how much are you willing spend on an amp? Also, you might have too much volume on the inside and your sub will not be able to keep up.

I'm mainly focused on good sound quality, volume is secondary because that's not really what I care about. The amplifier will probably be in a similar price range as the speakers, something suitable for the setup but not overly expensive. Out of all this, I still don't know which of these three speakers to choose ;p

Pick the cheapest of the three and use the rest of your speaker budget adding sound deadening to the doors. The deadening will make more of a difference in the sound than the differences in the speakers themselves.

sure I will do this, I will definitely soundproof all the doors properly, but if I have to spend once on the sound system, I would like it to be the best of the three that I sent

To get the best of the three, you will have to hear all of them side by side. Otherwise, you will not know he difference once they are in your car. The biggest thing is how you like your tweeters. If you like them really sharp, go with a harder dome tweeter. If you like them soft, go with a softer dome tweeter.

Audison. I wouldn't pick em because for my ears JL and Hertz are king up front, but out of those three definitely Audison. A set of whatabrand could be better, but it's near impossible to compare car audio components from each other outside of reviews and claims. Almost no brick and mortar car audio stores anymore with proper sound rooms/benches. Never cheap out on mids and highs or front theater in general. As someone else said, sound deadening, but that's obvious and honestly should be a good chunk of your budget.

I don’t get the last comment, can you explain what you meant?
Anyway, it kinda depends on the budget. I’ve tested for example a lot of headsets, so I know there’s a huge difference when you go for better gear, especially for audiophiles. If I’m spending extra cash, I want to actually hear the difference compared to the stock speakers. Right now, I’m torn between the ESB 2.6k2XP 2-Way Speaker System with a 1.1''/28 mm tweeter and the Musway MG 6.2C, plus a decent amp and some good soundproofing.
