Where to set sub amp level control knob before setting gains.

Experiment.
I removed my DC Audio 1100.1 amp got the Gladen amp in... calculated my voltage spec off the sub and i set amp gain voltage @ 39v.... But now with this amp i cant here any difference when turning the control knob . Doesn't seem to change sub bass at all. So i sent a message to the seller to see what he says.
Also the Gladen amp does not have a way to shut Xover's off and im use to doing it at my head unit. So now my questions are
1- Why doesnt knob change bass output ?
2- On my Alpine H.U. where do i set the settings to, so as to use the Xover on the amp instead.
(see pic of my alpine screen)

That actually looks like good start.

But shouldnt the bass knob work. And also still need to know where to set my HU if im using the crossover on the amp, as i read you use only one of them not both
or should i set HU low pass @80 and then set the amp low pass at 90 ?

I'd expect realistic goals, going from one 1000w amp to another will not yield perceptible gains especially with the same enclosure. No matter the price difference. Id set 80hz lp at the hu /w/ 100hz on the highs to start. Your frontstage is yours to blend with so adjust from there. If your bass knob is inop it may be due to amplifier gains being maxxed out. Max the signal then set gains off of that that level.
Bottom line is the simpler you make the signal chain the easier it should be to tune. Set lp at the hu at 80hz, then at 125hz at the amp etc. 100hz hp at the hu for highs then 50hz at the amp etc.
Setting levels at the amp by reading voltages was never my thing. I just watch clipping and adjust levels till it sounds good myself. Why overthink a simple process?
