Sub for 500 watts rms?

sealed or ported i still say 500rms u should get sub like mine hard to beat 96db.. and it can take lots more power later if u want. but nothing else i'd get sundown E bstock $95.. those arcs are pricey for what they are.. also nvx has a nice lower end sub that ha great reviews on sonic $109 600rms 90db..

kr15 said what i was thinking earlier 10 ported would be louder than a 12 and my 12 ported box is 22x15x14, some 10 u could cut that down to 18w x 12.5h x13d = 1.7cf total like 1/2 cf more than sealed 12.. something like that if u have width not depth make box wider.. if u gonna do sealed i'd just get 3/4" mdf prefab, dual 12 box on amazon is best deal right now $37, keep having to stop myself from buying it and getting 2nd pioneer, would sound good but wouldn't be louder with 2 subs..
Oh wow, that is actually pretty small for a 12 ported box. I was thinking it would have to be bigger, which is why I was thinking sealed. What I might lose some depth to will be a false wall, that I mount my amps to, to hide them when you look from the back of the trunk, making them only visible from the front when you pull the back seats down. Just trying to think of ways to mount my amplifiers.

Hmm, okay. I will take a look into your sub some more.

In a trunk, it would more so be bass youd "hear" rather than "feel".... theres no way around it, it isnt going to be loud

Its been about 10 years since i ran sealed. Memphis m3 12 on rf 1k. It sounded good, but wasnt loud by most of our standards.
Ahh, yeah, I think ported is the way I should go.

Any reason you would prefer a sealed 12 over a ported 10?
No idea, I just feel like I want a 12, lol. I have the space for a 12 ported, but was thinking about trunk space. I guess a 10 ported would be smaller too, but idk :p

pioneer 12 3003 will work in 1.5 but depending on power 1.6-1.8ad is best., most trunks (at least my 3 cars) are much louder subs facing rear.. see my box in avatar.. if u run 500rms maybe best to do 1.8cf ad so maybe 2.5cf to start with..

Still debating on maybe going for a bigger sub (in terms of on what performance line. I like the IA lethal injection). It'll let me just change amps if I ever want more, you know?

I can get the windshield wipers vibrating with a single sealed 12. And it is actually a big louder overal then my old monster ported 8 even when I was giving it all 1700 watts I had for it.

Don't discount it. Ported has a bump around its tuning but sealed has more output across the entire bass range. At least in my case. I keep my back seat up and the rear shelf is covered by the amp rack.

I like to use sealed boxes because they are better than ported boxes..
It's apparent you don'the know a thing about anything.

I was blind thinking you knew to even argue with you. Now bow to the trollmaster.
