Setting up 4 way active.

sounds nice.. what midrange were you looking at ?
Undecided. Looking at domes, mounted off-axis in factory kicks for starters. I like the Usher 9845 for the price and the reviews seem to be good. Not looking to spend uber bucks for my first at bat.

Suggestions??

I heard the ushers they are nice.. I like how they were very neutral. but it could have been the owners set up he had a ppi deq 30 band on each side. tuning possibilites up the yin yang.

I have been toying with an idea of a 3 way up front.

have you seen the newer bowflex revo ? wanted to get your opinion on it I know your a fellow health nut

3 way...it's the only way to fly mang //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not familiar with that one. The Versatrainer wouldn't be a bad investment. In general, I'm not a big fan of machine based equipment. It's too limited and creates "stupid" muscles. Unless of course you want to be a bodybuilder. Never understood how you can workout while sitting down. The only home based machine that I recommend is the EFI TotalGym (Chuck Norris *****)!

Other than that, a bench, stablility ball, Olympic bar with 300# of plates, dumbells up to like 100#, some elastic tubing, and maybe a cable machine or squat rack if you can fit it and afford it will get most people pretty **** far.

Muahahahahaaa //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
My 8053 and the ultra cool (or should I say hot) 16v balanced signal will stay. I will be running all Kicker SX amps with a billion DSP features including PEQ, HP/LP/BP x-overs, phase control, muti memory presets, bla bla bal. All controled by the SXRX. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
Excellent.

I considered it as well, back in the day... but opted for 3-way total out of my Alpine 9835... much cheaper at the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I used to own and 8053 and BLA... was tits. I REALLY considered the Kicker tho, especially since I'm @ CC.

But getting the SXRC is the best idea... to control it up front. They're kind of touchy... but once you get the feel of it... they're great.

Good luck! 3way sure is fun. The Usher dome is a great way to try it, its neutrality makes for easy transition regardless of other drivers. I love mine, super efficient-need very lil power to sing.

Thanks! I'll need it...and possibly a hair transplant after pulling my hair out the first few weeks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif

Any others to consider? $100 and under, that is.

60w on yours off that A7??

horns are the way to fly mang.

im looking at getting some super sexy 8" neo drivers that play up to like 3khz with a 2.5" mounting depth and throwing a 4th order bandpass on them from like 70hz~1.3khz, then running my ID CD2 fullbody HLCD's from 1.3khz~20khz. makes things quite simple, really high soundstage and great image seeing as 90% of the audio is comming from one location, rather than splitting all the midrange + high notes in half to the dedicated mid and tweet then worrying about imaging and all that stuff. and they only need 30w to beed some ears lawl.

good luck on your project tho - im not really familliar with all the kicker equipment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

It does sound like you got some cool stuff planned though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

yea same with you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

id like to hear a correctly setup 3 way active, but its too compicated for its own good lol.

im gonna be getting two DLS A5's and run it like LEFT horn\mid\sub on one A5, and RIGHT horn\mid\sub on the other a5. each IDQ will see ~700w, each midbass will see ~150w, and each horn will see ~40w.

ill be getting something like the F1 DVI-9990 (the DVD audio player) with the processor PXI-H990 (just like the H701). that way i can play wav files instead of MP3's and fit a billion on each DVD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Can't be THAT complicated...especially with all the tweakability I'll have.

How does that work when an A5 does 85x2 @4 + 780x1 @ 1?? Man I'll miss mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Wow, that's pretty bad *** man!

just like you said, a5 does 3 channels. midbass = 2ohm, so double 4ohm power, horns are 8ohm, so half them, and each of my IDQ's are dual 2's, so 780 to each one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it just gets really confusing with 3 way because you have to bandpass 2 sets of speakers, and high pass the tweets and lowpass the subs. thers a lot of tweakability, but its really MUCH eaiser to bandpass one pair of mids, and highpass the tweets, and lowpass the subs.

making sure your wires are right and your rca's are going where they need to go - trust me lol - it just gets confusing some times //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but when its all said and done (correctly lol) it should sound tits.

Hopefully I'll get some too :boobies: cause chicks like dudes with sweet sounding tunes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Solid. You enjoy all the processing with the SX's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...

My 2way front still has me VERY happy... just tonight I felt as though it was my first time experiencing it again... sigh...

Yes there is a certain level of satisfaction, I agree. I do feel something is missing, however (ie midrange). So I though I would at least try...mostly becuause I can...and also because I'm using the faulty assumption that more speakers are better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
