Chrysler/Dodge big sedans are a good choice too, better gas mileage than the Vic. Reliable too. Although I'm not a personal fan, they tend to be relaible and long lasting cars, that look decent and have quite a bit of room to play with

However, a monkey could put 2 18"s in a Vic- It'd be easy as hell. You can drop in an 8 cube box no problem- without having to take the lid off or anything. Plus, you get the po po package and ppl will slow down when they see you coming.

If I wasn't 80% biased towards Ford, I'd say it's a toss up between the two.

aha. yea i think i'll do one day in the papers and then one day driving around to every lot imaginable in the area. okay i gotta eat and do some classwork.
check out the cars i posted....they r in your area..just give them a call...and to find out where they located.(i did a search with in 40miles of your zipcode)

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get any Chrysler/Dodge/Plymout product. End story.

Ngism, why do you say that?

And after thinking about it i do not want anything but a midsized to fullsized car. I dont want a really small honda or a toyota echo or anything like that...

in the last few days i've been dead-set on a toyota camry, 98 or newer regardless of mileage so long as it is in good condition. but i can't hit the lots until next friday due to school and work all day every day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

for some reason shopping online just gives me a horrible feeling. the pictures are small and the descriptions are short. i do have the ability to carfax any car though so that makes it decent... but i'd rather shop through the newspaper or in the lots.

What problems are we having with either Chryslers or Nissans ? I know Toyotas and Hondas are solid and VW's are either fantastic or crappy depending on who you're talking to...

Thanks

Brian

I'll agree on never getting chrysler/dodge, etc. I will never buy anything american to be honest, the longevity is just not there.

I think a camry is a great idea. I know it's what you had before, and they are wonderful cars, they'll keep going forever.

They're ******** pieces of shit. You have to repair them ALL the time, and every repair is an assload. It's not eve regular maintenance...

I am on:

My 4th steering rack

My 3rd radiator

My 4th transmission

My 2nd ECM

My 2nd COMPLETE brake rebuild from the ground up

My 4th exhuast, rear of the headers

and the list goes on...

I'm not the only one either, I know PLENTY of people with problems. And when there is a problem...it's a major one...like $300 or more EVERYTIME...on single things.

i've personally owned nothing but american cars. all happen to be GM as well. from as old as '78 to as new as '02, which is my current car. i've never had ANY major problem with any of them...out of 6 different cars and trucks.

biggest issue was probably the alternator on my '79 ***** am, and heater core on my old suburban. both of them easy/cheap fixes.

the suburban had close to 300k miles when i sold it.

i've got family with toyotas and hondas. i like toyotas, and wouldn hesitate to drive one, but they've had more problems with that one car than ive had with just about all my cars combined. and it's a 2003 (matrix, fyi)

irrc, jettas/passats are notorious for many different issues, and some pretty 'minor' repairs, such as an alternator is a pain in the asss. have to more or less remove the whole front clip just to replace the ****n thing

i am also still looking at Toyota camrys and corollas, but the looks of Hondas dont really appeal to me. Most hondas I see do nothing but remind me of how people try to rice them.
I hit a corolla last winter, and the trunk popped right open - i thought for sure i fuct my ride up, but there wasn't a scratch.

that being said, ebay's got a few A4 in that price range //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
