HT Sub

bump for amp I almost bought from another member on here but found a nice deal on a JBL powered sub (my dorm room is 10'x10' so I don't need 1000W+)
It does about 700 watts at like 18% thd lol

how much power rms wise does that tc handle?

1200. Before I knew the truth it was a perfect match.... I think I'll be getting a 1300w ed plate amp for it.

So this weekend allowed me some time to work... but setbacks basically killed any progress. Had to drum-sand about 1/4 off of the mounting hole just to get the new driver to fit. Then after numerous attempts, I determined there was no way to use the t-nuts that were already glued into the baffle... So I knocked them out and decided to add some 2"x2" plywood blocks so I can just use regular screws. I'm not about to go through this whole build just to have a t-nut get knocked down into the box at the last minute.... while it's finished sitting in my apartment.

Buuut... while testing said t-nuts I determined that the oem would officially look badass inverted...

I got lucky with the mounting depth too. Any opinions on whether or not the pole vent is ok with the piece right behind it?

Nice baffling, how do you go about designing that? Or is it just strengthening in the middle with as much cut away to allow for air flow?

Looks sick inverted.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And clamps: why cant you buy decent ones anymore? I am looking for a load of sash cramps like you have for box building, but cant find any, these plastic things drive me nuts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad:

Based on the prices of crappy clamps, I'd say solid iron (steel? dunno...) ones like my grandfather lends me would probably be totally impractical to buy.

I think the square tube alumnium clamps (the ones with the blue ends) that Harbor Freight/etc. carries should do ok. You're kind of limited by length though.

Oh, and you could always use the round bar clamp ends. Then you can buy your own desired length pipe and as long as the clamp will bite into the pipe, they can put about the same clamping pressure as the cast ones.

Find the clamp ends that are made for 3/4" pipe, the are 10-15 bucks a set, then you buy the pipe and cut it to whatever length you want. Works excellent. Even better if you thread the ends of the pipe and buy a couple couplers so if you need a longer clamp you thread a couple more pieces together and voila, a longer clamp.

Wow so I just got my Venue SUB12. 250W is way more than I need but ****. Finally. Some depth and nice bass. Doesn't go as low as I'd really like but for $230 shipped, I ain't complaining. And running off a POS receiver too.
