Gain Setting Tutorial

Are you in the proper range?
Call me crazy, but in this thread dedicated to setting gains, I find it a bit odd that you are trying to get your multimeter to read 40 volts. What are you trying to do?

Either your not turning your gains up, you don't have your dmm ranged properly, or you need a new dmm.
Yes I did turn my gain up but i was just wondering if the V with the wave above it is the symbol for AC because thats the symbol on the dmm.

This is a link to my multimeter http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396670087&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1130801331490&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442202179&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true

If I got two subwoofers and I want each sub to get 1,000rms @ 1ohm do I do 2,000rms x 1(ohm) then get the sqrt of 2,000 which is 44.721. Correct?
Uhh...2 DVC 4ohm subs running at 1 ohm? If you're talking about dvc 2 ohm subs and running each at 1 ohm you would have a final load of .5 ohms with the 2 combined.
