7.07 each cahnnelHello I have a Rockford fosgate p4004 4 channel amp, I would like to know How many volts AC should be set on both gains it's 50 rms per channel.. Thanks for the info...
yes for each channel and im having that same question, but i know 7.07 is the read out you should get for 50watts.Ok I see what ur saying also is this is for each channel correct ? since it has 2 gains also where do I set the crossover to sound it best 70,125, so it will sound clear ....
Now I understand...for example in my sitaution...Subs- two 15" Kicker L7s DVC2i explained to u last night already and gave u examples. .. Sqrt(Power*Resistance) = Voltage
Make sure your sub level is all the way up when you set your gains, this way you can turn it down however much you want to depending on what you're listening to. And you also have the chance that if you set your gains with sub level at 0, then if you turn it up to 14, you could be clipping. Now I understand...for example in my sitaution...Subs- two 15" Kicker L7s DVC2
amp- KX2500.1
(i want it to get 1000rms to each sub, not 1250rms).
So i do...
2,000(rms) x 2(ohm)= 4,000
4,000 sqrt= 63.245
Therefor I need to set my volume on my headunit to 39 (3/4 of 52) have all my EQ to 0 (bass, treb, sub etc...) With the volume and everything on the EQ down, I raise the volume up to 39 on my headunit, then turn the gain on my amp until my DMM reads 63, correct? This is all I have to do in order to have my gains properly set on my amp? This all done using a 50hz tone.
Question- since I had to set the gain using the subwoofer level on my Headunit at 0 is it still ok to put it up to the max (14/14) without worrying about it blowing or I shouldn't do that?
Good point. I want to avoid any clipping since this will be for daily driving. I will only set the gains a little higher than 63v when I compete. I will make sure to set it at subwoofer level 14/14 when setting the gains.Make sure your sub level is all the way up when you set your gains, this way you can turn it down however much you want to depending on what you're listening to.
