Started the demo car build.

Yeah it was pretty stupid but I have always grounded my alts to the ear mounts anyways.

wow! I always did it at the mounting bolts as well. I will run a length to the top mounting bolt to the ground point stud on the alternator and then another length from the ground stud to the battery negative terminal.

Alternator is in! What a fluffin bish that was lol. Had to move the AC line, remove the tensioner, and shoe horn the old alt out and the new one in. Good news the belt I got was a perfect fit one shot. Didn’t take pics as it’s wired temp at the battery. Once the new battery and terminals get here and I do it all pretty I will post pics. I’m sure glad my best friend is a mechanic cause no way I could of done that myself . I could now tho .

Took a couple quick pics. Top mounting bolt grounded to chassis and ground bolt they provided grounded to battery. Everything will be loomed over the weekend.

Got the taramps M1. By Saturday it will be time to run the power wires and after that, box will go in, get secured, top plate made to make it look like a wall, and any finishing touches to make it look nicer. Gotta do the tints first before putting the box in though.

The inside. It looks good IMO and is much easier to be rid of than spray paint if you ever want to attempt to un-do this. Alternately a tint shop should have some solid black vinyl in flat or glossy. Spraying is much easier to get right than laying tint/vinyl though.

spraying is definitely much easier than tint. The worst part with tint imo is the prep. I’ll never take it off and this car being my beater car will stay this way till it ends up in a junk yard .

I always had a hard time finishing it clean, it got to where it would bump and I gave in lol. My little civic with the wall was clean though, but I didn't build it lol.

my ocd won’t allow it lol. All the install stuff like distro blocks, power and ground wire etc will arrive on Saturday. All battery connections will be done clean with ring terminals and so will the distro blocks. The amps will have wire ferrules and heat shrink so all we be perfect. The biggest pain is gonna be getting the box in the car and securing it down. I know how I gotta do it but it’s gonna take some time and work to do it.

Little sneak peek. Box is in the back so now it’s time to secure it, put some side panels back, make the top plate, and see if I need any trim pieces to close any gaps. If I made the box any bigger it would of never fit lol. To go bigger it would have had to be built inside the car which is what I didn’t wanna do!
