Started the demo car build.

Been hammering away on the subs and they are eating this 5k with ease! It got to the point now where I have to leave the sunroof at the minimum tilted open as it flexes so much it makes loud noises. Low notes are just brutal, during the winter I’m going to build the next step up and do 15’s with a longer coil winding width, bigger motor, larger spiders, Ti frame etc. This 5k has plenty of power so it will do nicely with them with what I have in mind. I want to meter this first before I do this. I’ve noticed in the early morning when it’s cool out, it’s noticeably louder. I want to meter it when things cool down here so when I build the new subs I can compare right away.

***** I can only do a short video as everything else I try is too large but whatever lol. Slowly starting to push things harder. Did a retune yesterday after doing this video and it’s getting pretty windy in this car 😂. Gonna order a spl meter soon, one my buddy has I don’t trust the numbers.

Well I broke the review mirror so that’s off now 😂. Heard a funny noise and thought something was wrong and took the subs out. The subs are holding up perfectly! Did have a lock washer in the box that was stuck on the frame at time of removal 😬. Noise can no longer be heard now. Must of dropped it when bolting the box and thought I got it out.

Well, tomorrow my new meter shows up and I’m getting nervous 😬 😂. I never made the side plates yet to seal off the back from the trunk but I’m sure after metering it I’ll get the motivation to do it in order to see what gains if any I get. I’ve actually metered the car on a friends meter but don’t trust it (seems high to me). Anyone care to guess 🤔. As a refresher, taramps smart 5k, 2 custom built 15’s in 3.75 cubic feet each tuned to 31 hz, no deadener, no foam, no reinforcing anything, just a box in the back seat with a top trim plate and decent size gaps on the side.

Metered the demo car 😬

I don’t think most want to go through 11 pages on the original thread so I’ll do a new thread for this. Little refresh, taramps smart 5k, 3.75 cubic feet each 15” tuned to 31-32 hz. Subs at rest sit at 2 ohm so I know I ain’t seeing fully power. Car is at idle so voltage drops to 13.3 volts. Box...
