The Most Ghetto Rigged System You Ever Saw

wasnt it a benz? i could be wrong but the most ghetto ive ever seen was afriend of mine he goes to a different school out in hickville *sorry if i offend* but he bought a system off his neighbor against my advisement this is what he got 1 10inch xplod and one 10 inch jensen sub 8g wireing kit with the longest lenght being about 6 feet with wire nuts makeing it about 17ft a jensen amp it was a 5 chan i think at first it looked like something that would come with some power ranger toys or something . a bandpass prefab box with out the plexiglass screen and 1 38inch green underglow tube he paid 160 dollars for that shit and when i got there and he wanted my help to install it i almost cried it was horrible not to mention his wire harness for his headunit was corroded and eaten to shit i couldnt find any wires it was all melted together

Ya it was a benz. For the few seconds the car stayed together (the sunroof popped out and depressurized the car) the huge sub pulled a 160 something dB at 16 hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

hmm, guy came into CC one afternoon........

He had a 10awg wire running to the back, and it went into a 2-ch which powered his fronts (more on the fronts later). And then, he jammed an 8 awg wire into the amp alongside the 10awg, and ran that to another 2-ch which was powering his flea market special subs in a crappy box. Both amps have an 18awg speaker wire ground.

He had a Cavalier, and since he didnt know how to take the dash apart, he just ripped out whatever he could and busted up his dash to put a h/u in. No dash kit. His factory wiring harness was cut off, and he had twisted wires together... some with wire nuts, some just bare.

His door panels were jacked up, too. Instead of removing the panels, he just fakked up the door panels and somehow got some flea market special speakers in his front doors. He ran wire from his amp to the front of the car and didn't hide it. Then, he just ran the speaker wire to the terminals of the speakers, and didn't bother going through a conduit or anything.

... he came in wondering why it didn't work.

I swear on everything that I witnessed what I'm about to say. In high school, (I'm 30 now BTW) I saw a dude take a vented truck box for two 10's......cut the holes out so that 12's would fit in it....and then here is the kicker.....wanted it sealed and had no wood....took an old license plate, put caulk all over the back of it, slapped it over the port, and nailed, yes nailed the license plate to the mdf box....... mokedaddy is in this fourm, and can vouch for this, because he witnessed as well.

And i thought the two 12" boxes that my bro built with a licence plate, a truck box for 10s, a little fiberboard, lots of caulk and some gold spray paint was ghetto.

My first was 2 kicker 12's in a box that was built with 2x4's and a piece of plywood. It wasn't even sealed. Just 2 2x4's in an L shape with the plywood attached holding the subs. They kind of blew after a couple weeks.

Seen Myth Busters build a 80" Woofer and stick it in a oldsmobile. They ran the sub off the drive shaft!
I had to lay on the floor for 5mins from laughing so hard.
it also hit like a 160 at 16hz......

My first setup was two of the cheapest audiobahn subs in a large sealed box, with a boss amp hooked up to it. The subs faced the cabin and I had to leave the back seat down to actually be able to hear it.

I went to a free car show/metering and met a guy with a cherokee that had a full computer in his car (desktop and CRT moniter; this was pre-LCD screens) and a huge *** enclosure holding 9 pyramid subs. I had two MTX 8000 12s that metered louder than his setup on the same mic (I put up ~142 he did ~139). He was so pissed off that I was louder he decided he needed 9 more.

My buddy had something like that for a while. He has a 1990 or soemthing fullsize chevy conversion van (We call it the beast).. anywayz, for a while (Before he got his new HU) he had logitech satellite speakers with the sub between the front seats, hooked up to a power inverter... and it got its signal from his laptop, or our mp3 players.. It was okay for a temp setup (his old HU was broken when he got the van). Now he has soem cheapo walmart vr3 cd player with sd card slot and mp3 playing function... his interior speakers sound alright with the bass turned down, and he has a bazooka tube sub. Vans get loud easy. His isnt loud (DUH) but its nice... in a ghetto fab way.
