lol park car next to window...use long speaker wire and rcas, mount sub in room, run amp off car power, and run long rcas (make the wire by splcing phono jack on one end and rca on the other) from the home audio deck/computer....and if nessessary get aspliter for that so you can send the same signal to the inside speakers.....get gains properly...have some fun for an hour or 2 till the neighbos say WTF!!!! thatd be fun to have a xxx15 wanging with 1800w in my room!....or even an 18 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif good times...

a while back i had a battery hooked up to a trickle charger and ran a lanzar 1200d with low gains to infinity oerfects sealed in my room.....looking back im lucky the battery didnt die/fry/explde.....was for abotu 30 min

i heard u can hook it up to a 12v power supply from a computer to run everything? is that true?
Yes, if you have one that is big enough it can be done though I do not know the exact process. I have actual power converters and having mobile gear in my bedroom is ghetto enough for me without making it even worse. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The breakdown on how to use a CPS to run mobile stereo gear is in a thread here somewhere but I couldn't tell you for sure where.

thatll work untill the amp u run of fit will fry that power supply by strying to **** too much juice out of it........those are only like 300w power supplies give o take iirc....maybe u could starp 10 of them together???

Why don't you do this:

Get a 1/8" to RCA converter for your computer

Get a cheap 5.1 home audio reciever that does around 100w per channel

Hook your sub up

Then you have room to add on mids/highs

If the receiver in question has no dedicated amplifier channel meant for the LFEs then he will have no method of filtering the mids/highs out of the sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Most receivers have a low-level preamp output for a sub but no actual powered channel for it. My old-school Technics has both, strangely enough...

This is a wacky thread.
Just pick up any receiver.

Build a box for the intended sub.

Put plate amp on said box.

/thread.

This plate amp is 240 watts and has high-level inputs. $100.

Your solution calls for making two purchases. $100 for the plate amp + whatever the receiver costs (at least another $100?)

My solution of $100 power supply will allow the user to run a HU and an amp without the additional $100 expense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

On 35 amps? I don't even own an amps that's fused less than that.

The HU will draw an average of 10-12 amps, at normal volume. That only leaves 23-25 amps for the sub amp.

Just because an amplifier will draw X amount of amperage at full tilt doesn't mean it will use near that amount of current at more moderate volumes.

No sir, it won't. Not even close.

See above. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Alright. So we're looking at a $100 plate amp + an additional $65 (that's what that would be shipped to my zip code, at any rate) for the receiver.OR

$100 for a power supply like I use and no additional expenditure.

No, I cannot run any big amplifier at full tilt off of my 35a unit but I did run a KDC-X679 HU, a KAC-PS150 2-channel amp, and a KAC-X401M monoblock at moderate volumes just fine off of the PS I have.

Again ~ Just because any given amp is rated for X amounts of current draw at full volume doesn't mean that it will require anywhere near that amount of current at lower volumes.
