Because the mobile gear is something they already have and the average person doesn't realize that for the same expenditure that a decently sized power supply is going to run them they can buy a cheapie receiver or a plate amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifwhy not just buy a sub amp made for home audio use. after all a speaker is a speaker. people always want to run 12v amps in home and it doesn't make sense when they make amps for home/pa use that run on 110v. why make it harder than it is
No, the small black unit on the bottom shelf is a Proton 222 2-channel amplifier that I just yesterday sold and am awaiting payment to arrive in the mail. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifso you need.....HU, AMP, Plate amp, and converter? ( is that the converter on the bottom shelf?)

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifI use converters made by Pyramid. Yep ~ the same guys that make incredibly crappy car audio gear.
Remember the old Pyramid Gold Phase III products? That is how the power supplies I have are labeled. They've proven unendingly reliable and worth their cost.
I buy mine locally from the best CB technician in town. It is not at all uncommon for a CB enthusiast to run mobile gear in their house as opposed to home gear due to the vast difference in cost. Gotta provide power to all that gear meant to go in Bubba's pickup, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif 'Cause if you didn't know there are amplifiers for CB radio, too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Check around town and see if there is a CB technician or a supply house of some sort for CB enthusiasts....they'll have 'em, I promise. Barring that Google "Pyramid Phase III by Tenna power supplies" and I would imagine that more than a few sites that carry them will pop up. Don't pay more than $115/shipped for a 35 ampere constant power supply. It isn't worth it beyond that price. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

What are you talking about would be awesome, Frotchie?
Like that, yes, but a much larger amperage capacity. The one you've linked to is only a 5 ampere unit (keeping in mind that your average modern HU can draw more current than that at full tilt)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif w00ps
