ill reach out to him and see what he says. tried signing up on that other site and i cant send a direct message. if someone has a contact i can use otherwise that would help alot. or tell him someone trying to contact him. in the meantime anyone recommend what would be generally a louder clearer system than the 2004 chevy tahoe LT bose system that i could get installed in an audio shop? the most common brands seem to be:

kicker
JL Audio
DD audio
Alpine
Beyma
PRV audio
Comando
Tharamps

what brands to stay away from? id ideally like to spend 1500 max with install. id that feasible more or less?

or reccomend some proper sound shops in the bronx or manhattan ideally? will travel if it can be done same day.

I screwed up and meant Skizer not ANS. ANS does really good work as well but isn't anywhere close to you in NY where Skizer is in the state. And if he can't help you then he knows a lot trusted installers in that area that he can recommend one to you.

Ignore the fool above me OP he just goes around here trolling people as that is all he does.

I wasn't the one that was wrong now was I?

At least I admitted it vs you who just came here to troll instead of trying to help the OP.

Try helping the OP instead of posting some stupid comment like the one you did.

bump for feedback on those brands and local shops. i spoke to skizer nice guy responded and all but were in two different ballparks far as price and how far id like to go with work and price.

hey guys thanks for the replies. im sure i could bring parts and what not to a shop..but my issue here is the "sound". i want something alot louder and clear than the Bose system in my truck. without hearing anything im hesitant to buy stuff and then have it installed and it sounds the same or lesser. at least i would think with what a shop offers if its not loud enough i can go louder. i dont want the doors deafened i need to hear this music lol the head unit is

with the Bose system in the 2004 chevy tahoe LT. its loud..but i want it louder with quality parts and brand. one place quoted me 1200 for a kicker replacement of speakers, amp, and woofer. im willling to go 1500-1600 for the right system and sound. another highly rated place seems to do JL audio and DD audio. i ideally want to walk into one of these shops...have them replace and upgeade everything that sounds louder and better than the bose system...with quality parts and some sort of reasonable workmanship warranty. im in the bronx,ny and will travel reasonably for good work. ive heard of jl audio and kicker but not all these other brands which is why im asking for help.
So.. The HU you got is only 2v RCA.. which It would have been a better choice have opted out for a 4-5v, but it does have T/A, and LPF and HPF on it which is a plus,And of course what you want and need i assume or you woudnt have picked it up.Most shops want you to buy what they SALE or have in Stock ..Hence SALE..Most will not install anything you bring without an extra upsale charge and will not give a warranty on the product and sometimes the install.Kicker has gone down hill since the mid 90s IMO.. Most theyre amps are still decent and I only like theyre KS25 1" Tweeters and theyre 3/4" tweeters(titanium) due that they take power and will scream on 50 watts or better.Actually sound pretty decent for the price.JL is over priced of my opinion, but they do make some dammned good amplifiers.. but you going to pay for them.. and there are competative brands for a much better price.DD is also very expensive but offer very quality gear that will last.. again$$$ deep pockets for the gear.

JL = Over priced IMO
DD= Another Expensive deep pocket brand/ but High quality
Alpine= Higher end speakers are decent ,amps are quality Still good gear
Beyma= Expensive Raw speakers and components
PRV= fair to decent Raw drivers..Amps?? Ehh
Comando= Never heard of them.. Have look up but never heard of them
Taramps= Decent amplifiers for the $

Nice post
Didnt take very long man especially if you know what works and have purchased before.. Ive used just about the majority of those items I used in my 98 Xcab at one time except the older Polks, and wiring, and HU. Should get down pretty decent. Not an SPL build out, but should sound very nice

This is my thought as well. Would be a much better box volume if you could buy the 12" version of those subs.
