New system tell me what you think.

Please, tell me more about how I'm wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have one of the "founding fifty" local to me, straight out of his mouth it is a discontinued W7 with a different surround and smaller motor structure. I bet it would do fine in a ported enclosure.

A friend that works there says they haven't found one they where 100% happy with yet

Wouldn't surprise me. You have all the soft parts weight of the W7, without nearly the motor force it used to have. I bet the engineers are just wanting too much out of it, even though they are touting it as the newest breakthrough in W6 "SQ". I think the not being happy with it is merely it under performing compared to it's retired sister.

I think they will get it but it won't be the great small box woofer anymore

Agreed, going to need efficiency help from a larger enclosure.

I suppose we can get back on track here. OP, I think your system should sound great!
@wickedwitt; You can't say I was lying though. It's in big bold letters on their website.
I agree man, didn't mean for it to come off like you are lying, I just had a bit more inside scoop than what the website is going to announce until they have it nailed down more.

I love how people on these forums take time out of their day to post negative **** like this.
At least he is speaking from experience. I would rather someone say this than "don't buy JL it's over priced cr*p" and then have not legitimate reason as to why they said that.

True. I understand how not every brand is going to work with everyone. Guess I came across to harsh. I just had always been completly satisfied with all their products that I purchased.

The new W6 will work just fine ported. I love all of the JL hate on this forum, it is actually pretty funny. JL makes good shit, period. It might be a bit pricey but the W6 and W7 are amazing drivers, and if anyone says otherwise they are just hooked into the "underground is superior no matter what" mindset.
