lulznever said they were different....but at least they dont get torn up when in ported
yall dont understand what i mean. they are started to blend in with all the other chinese garbage....like newer REwhy does a sub have to have spinners or 30 in rims on them ...basic is all you need ..subs will sound the same no matter what they look like
If you look at it that way all subs are a "basic" design... they have a magnet, top plate, back plate, coil, spider, cone, surround, etc.And these obsidians are some new ground breaking design? Just looks like another assembly of cookie cooker parts offered to anyone with enough money to start a company. Face it, most any internet brand is relying on a "basic" design.
You are correct. If QA can stay on top of things it doesnt matter where something is made. Does anybody really think if something is made in America its better? We overcharge for everything we do because we think its that good. Is a Caddy better then a Lexus? Hell no! BUT ITS AMERICAN so we charge out the *** for it.back to china....Chinese parts dont mean it's all bad, you get what you pay for in most cases
Haha, that's a pretty funny post. [sarcasm]Judging loudspeaker performance on looks is definitely the way to go! And while you're at it, judging the company's background, work, and finances is a good thing to do as well. [/sarcasm]And these obsidians are some new ground breaking design? +1. The Obsidian drivers are not "relying on a "basic" design" and he so succinctly put it. Far from it actually...which is what makes that erroneous accusation so droll. Unless, that is, "relying on a basic design" means using a voice coil, surround, cone, and motor. If the latter is what your statement eludes to, then yes we do use those components to make our subwoofers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The Obsidian subwoofers handle over 50% more power, utilize an innovative cooling system that aids in thermal power handling, work in smaller boxes, play lower, etc than other overseas and even locally built subwoofers in their class. If where they are manufactured directly correlates to their performance does that make other brands instantly made in Elbonia? I don't think so.If you look at it that way all subs are a "basic" design... they have a magnet, top plate, back plate, coil, spider, cone, surround, etc.
There is a big gap between just looking at a driver at your desk and testing it and/or knowing how the parts work together. Is the OA driver going to change the speaker world ? No and it wasn't designed to -- but it's priced very well and does what it says it will do and more. If you want your sub-woofer to cure cancer it's not for you. If you want a nice sounding speaker that is durable and quite inexpensive they are a good choice.
IMO having more choice between quality options on the market is a good thing.
Having more options is a great thing.. It keeps people honest and always brings new ideas to the game.If you look at it that way all subs are a "basic" design... they have a magnet, top plate, back plate, coil, spider, cone, surround, etc.
