my sealed *steel* type R box

ok heres the deal i have a buddy that works for a welder hes 18 and hes going to build me a box out of 1/8 inch steel thats 14 by 14 by 14 and thats 1.5 cu ft for a type r sealed, then i will get it powder coated, ill get pics after its done and before its powder coated, what you guys think? and its free

have him put in some reinforcements to keep the walls from flexing in the middle.

just have him brace it with some welded extruded L stock across the midsections of the box - problem solved.

i think you should have hit make it a little more cool than a box tho. why not give him a little bit of a challenge.

more of a chance for getting some resonating pannels....should sound identical with proper bracing though.

Steel is very Elastic. So it will flex and such alot more then wood.

ok ya i told him to put some l braces 8 of them on each weld part , also its not that flexable its only 14 inches wide and deep also i think im going to need deadoning in the box

if you really want it sealed, you should ask him to weld your sub to the box too.

na hes gonna put some nut sets in there, and also think 2-3 layers of deadoning will be needed? i think so for sure i dont really know though
