my sealed *steel* type R box

if anybody is ever interested in getting custom metal/plexi/lexan/acrylic/tile parts cut to a custom design, let me know. my old boss has a flow waterjet that can cut any freakin thing. he still cuts many things for me. i can get pics of designs if you guys like. sorry for jacking the thread.

ill try to get the box back tommorow, my buddy is doing it for free, its all labor time, ill buy him an 18 or something some time, its just something to try out, he has all the tools so its really easy, ill try to get some pics up tommorow, has anyone ever tried a steel box?

You should have him weld some handles onto it, for lifting it and carrying it around and stuff. I've never tried a steel box, heard a steel box, or every hearf of a steel box untill now.

noob question, what is spectrum, and you would think steel wouldnt be so great just for metallic purposes, how come you didnt do fiberglass? Personally Im thinking about doing some carbon fiber and fiberglass, get a little more rigidity from the carbon and looks, but steel seems like it would push that barrier too much, even with deadening, and on top of that its a beast of a box (looks like u might be pushing 80 to 100lbs), o well, maybe it will work and you can have stumbled onto a new fad?

ok spectrum = liquid deadoning = dynamat for the noobs, and with metal it is experimental done all for free really, and with 1/8 steel it is still a lil flexable, also with a steel box when you hit the outside you kinda hear a ting sound, and i do have a sealed, and ported box for it

should have made it out of 1/2" titanium... may have been about 25x heavier but it wouldn't flex if you shot it with a 44 mag
ya...cause just yesterday i shot my mdf box and it just wouldn't hold up! i just don't understand it....i should of went with the titanium! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
