OK ya maybe I should have went with something smaller for the first time, but I don't need kicks.

Lesson learned #1:

I hate working with glass! I give you guys mad props for working with this consistently and constantly. It's tedious, intoxicating(even when ventilated), and frustrating at times.

Lesson learned #2:

Any glass that touch the skin get off quick. This shit burns :p

Lesson learned # 3:

Use release. Even the painters tape trick din't work for me on such a large piece. This mold din't want to come out for anyone.

Lesson learned #4:

Read the instructions COMPLETELY before just diving in and making your first batch of resin. Instead of wasting 12 oz of resin becaue your dumbass didnt realize this shit sets up in 15 minutes. Little at a time idiot! DOH!

Lessoned learned #5:

I hate working with glass!

With all that out of the way. I made the mold and huffed and puffed for an hour and a half releasing the mold. I didn't get pics of the mold out of the car because A. I was done for the weekend on this project. B. It's kind of ugly but it gives me my shape to work with.

For the mostpart the glass portion of this box won't be visible, so I am not spending time learning how to smooth it out. I only needed to use the glass to pocket this ***** in the corner of the trunk and conserve as much space as possible. MDF will be used for the front baffle and I will only need to worry about making the glass on top of the enclosure a bit presentable, but the finish I plan to use doesn't require baby butt smoothness.

Without further delay here are some progress pictures.

what kinda car is that in? looks like no trunk room. and u will get better with the the glass
04 GTO. There is no trunk room because they caged the fueal tank in there to pass crash regulations. At this point I don't even know if I want to get better :p

More pictures... NOW.

Looks good man, it is not very hard to do, just very time consuming. Just remember, the Lord is with you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Probably not, but whatever.

thats pretty ballsy of you for a first time project....looks good.
I like to jump into everything balls deep :p Go big or go home right? lol

yeah man looking good. You aren't going to glass the front of the box?
The more I think about I guess I will have to to tie in the Front baffle. I am using more that just a ring for the front though as I hope to port it.

I will have more pics up when I go to start building up the mold on saturday.

Looks good so far. What you got in mind for a baffle for that monster ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I'ts ging to be 3/4 MDF. I will have to fleece and FG it to the mold. It isn't as big as you may think from the pics. That trunk is small and that makes the enclosure look huge.

You might want to put a flat piece of mdf in the bottom there to mount the ring or what ever to to make fleecing easier. It's alot easier attaching it to a piece of mdf securely than to glass itself. It tends to get wobbly with hot glue, and using screws is a pain when you have to reinforce the glass for the screws. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
