Featured Help needed with crossovers

Hello people fellow audio enthusiasts.
I need a bit of advice please.
I have an android head unit, which has a DSP built in but it is only 25w RMS and I wanted a bit more power, but not something silly, so recently purchased a 6 X 60w RMS Digital Sound Processor amplifier, and some Focal 165AS components, plus some midbass for the rear doors.

My question is this, how do I set up the crossovers, now on the amplifier their is a small knob to adjust, and also on the head unit there is an equaliser with HP/LP filters and Sub control.

The focal Access comes with passive crossovers.

This is my first foray into such a setup, but I'm wise enough to know I don't need to blow my tweeters by sending the wrong signals to them.

I'm guessing that I don't need the passive crossovers as that's what the DSP amp is for.
How do I set this up?
It's not an expensive amp.
Please bear in mind that I am new to this so I need some sort of a step by step.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Setting up your audio system with a DSP and passive crossovers can be a rewarding endeavor! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you set up the crossovers and adjust your system:

### Step 1: Wiring
1. Connect your Head Unit to the Amplifier:
- Use RCA cables from your head unit's output to the amplifier's input.
- Ensure that you follow the proper channels (left/right).

2. Connect the Amplifier to the Speakers:
- Connect your Focal 165AS components and midbass speakers to the amplifier outputs.

### Step 2: Setting the Crossover Frequencies
1. Passive Crossovers:
- You can use the passive crossovers that come with your Focal components. Connect them according to the instructions, linking the speaker outputs from the crossovers to the respective tweeters and woofers.

2. DSP Settings:
- Full Range Gain: Set to 0 to start, you’ll adjust this later.
- High-Pass Filter (HPF): Set the HPF to around 80-100 Hz for the Focal tweeters to protect them from low frequencies. This allows only higher frequencies to pass through, keeping them safe.
- Low-Pass Filter (LPF): If your midbass speakers are capable of handling lower frequencies, set the LPF around 80-100 Hz as well, to ensure a smooth transition from the woofers to the midbass.

### Step 3: Adjusting Gains
1. Initial Gain Settings:
- Set both the Front Gain and Rear Gain knobs to the midpoint (e.g., around 5).
- Gradually adjust these knobs while listening to your music for clarity and volume without distortion.

### Step 4: Head Unit Adjustments
1. Equalizer Settings:
- Start with a flat EQ and adjust based on your listening preferences.
- Make use of any HP/LP filters available.

### Step 5: Testing and Fine-Tuning
1. Play Music:
- Test the system with various music genres that you enjoy.
- Listen for clarity, balance, and whether any frequencies are overwhelming or weak.

2. Make Adjustments:
- Fine-tune the HPF and LPF based on your preferences.
- Adjust the gains if certain speakers are distorting or not loud enough.

### Final Tips
  • Avoid Overdriving: Keep an eye on distortion; if you hear any, lower the gain.
  • Take Your Time: Adjust settings gradually and test frequently.
  • Consult Documentation: Refer to any specific manuals for your amp and speakers as they can have unique settings or recommendations.

Good luck with your setup, and enjoy the improved sound quality!
