as you can see all the nooks and crannys showed up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif The paint brings out everything, it is so hard try to get everything even with the tube because of the shape. Oh well. Im just gonna paint the ends black and carpet it, itll save me lots of time for the next tube, i wont have to put body filler on it and sand it. Just have to decide which carpet color to go with either that blue that I already ordered or a different color like the one I painted the tube with. Hmmnn.
When the paint dried fully it didnt look to bad, but i think with a glossy finish itll show up so i purchased this eBay: BLUE CARPET SPEAKER BOX ENCLOSURE 4' X 15' NEW (item 270092914155 end time Apr-23-07 20:27:09 PDT) should make things hella faster //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif On the other side I got 1 more tube to go :-/ I think the fumes are gettin to me
Well started the 2nd tube, had a box which i started last year but never finished so im using that for some scrap wood
cut the circles out for the ends with the jasper jig, that jig is a god send.
perfect fit
This is the glue/sealer im using to hold the ends on while fiberglassing, I didnt show it earlier in the build so im gonna show it now. This stuff is wicked nice and it holds strong.
All glued/sealed up with some added weight before fiberglassin.
more to come tomorrow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif
this morning i got a section wrapped in fiberglass, this other resin is hella easier to work with than the home depot crap, goes on alot easier/faster.
Its almost dry so i'll probably throw another section on before work, i have to go and get more resin and hardner right now im using the mixture of 4oz of resin to 60 drops of hardner and its giving me about 15 min of play time before it starts jelloin up.
AFTERNOON
that layer dried so I applied another section, I just had enough resin to get that section down, so now I have to get some more resin before work and throw another layer down after work lol
took the car over to frenchies cheverolet, showed them the camber kits and showed them how to raise the @ss end. Im gonna have to raise the @ss by 1/2" because of the weight of the subs, amps and battery. Its gonna cost $130 to correct the camber and raise the @ss and do the alignment. Which isnt that bad. Monday is the day todo that lol
Got my carpet in for the tubes
Its a tad darker than Id like but oh well, itll still look decent //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif Got almost the 2nd layer of mat down, im about todo that in a minute
