Is max gain bad? Help please!

Im a newbie at this, when doing the gain setup, I’m having to turn up the gain practically all the way up to get the sub working.

also this is my first time ever hooking everything up so some tips/advice on how to properly hook up everything would be greatly appreciated. And yes I know this is a very budgeted system but I’d rather learn and blow these up than a w3 lol

- hpf (through)
- lpf (through)
- loudness (off)
- bass boost (off)
- sub level -15/+15 (0)
- mid -8/+8 (0)

Turn your gain all the way down. Turn subwoofer level all the way up on headunit. Then set gain on amp.

What is the pre-amp voltage for the RCA's coming out of your head unit?

Max gain alone doesn't say much. If it was never necessary the circuit would be designed differently.

x2. I've had to do max gain on 2v radios and I have literally needed another 25% gain to even get close to full output lol. It was bad.

That's probably your problem. I'd get a new radio or an inline voltage booster for your RCA signal.

Very low RCA voltage with subwoofer level set at 0 with 2.5 volt max outputs. I have never seen anyone set their headunit subwoofer level to 0.

What the heck I thought I responded to it earlier, my apologies! I was asking how would I adjust it then besides going back to adjusting gain, bass knob? Thanks!
