Have a AQ2200, no sub..

I have a 09 VW CC, stock alt, battery was upgraded, big 3 soon. I am actually very disappointed, it was not loud, I didn't want to touch gains to much, left bass boost alone. I called and did the frequencies recommended from soundqubed. So I thought it had to do with the dvc option. To be honest I would love to keep it if I can get it to sound like I am expecting. So now I am stuck and wish I can resolve this without buying, selling, shipping, all that nonsense.
With that electrical, don't wire lower.

I don't think swapping subs will satisfy you though.

Okay out of pure desperation because of how much I have wasted over the years with this sh*t, if you were in my shoes what would you do ? I'll upgrade my electrical even though I did not want to, but if I have the right knowledge and guidance I'll just say f*ck it and do it.

I've wasted $25,000 in the past three years and am still not completely satisfied.

How much money do you want to spend?

How much of your trunk do you need and how much are you willing to sacrifice?

Do your rear seats fold down? How often do you have people in the back?

If you can, fold the seats down, mount the amp to the back of the seats, and build a box as large as possible in the trunk "walled off" (sealed around the edges).

If you have enough money for a high output alternator, you could get one and run the Zv4 @.5 nominal.

Just my suggestion, take it as you will.

Something like this:

start by figuring out if your enclosure is doing that sub justice, what size net is it? what tuning?

if your enclosure is good, your sub is good, and your amp is good, then you'll need to upgrade your electrical with a HO alternator and 2-3(ideally 3) batteries. it's going to be expensive, the alternator will cost you a large amount of the cost. add about 40 ft of 1/0 welding cable, some lugs, and fuses you'll be set.

is your sub d1?

Hang on.. Let me ask this because I am all over the place. What about if I get an amp that runs 2k+ at 2 ohms and run it in series ? Cuz its a d1 sub. So I don't have to do all this upgrading etc.

2k at 2ohm or 2k at .5ohm It's don't matter 2,000 either way is 2000watts, both would draw close to 200amps if they were both doing 2000watts

Just run the woofer at .5ohm and get a volt meter at amp and set gain so you don't drop below 12v and you should be good to go

Perfect box for a zv4 12" is 3cubes after displacement with a port 10"x3.5" tuned to 28hz... Will straight hammer

Okay let me ask this, if i wire the sub parallel it will drop to .5 ohms, with what your'e talking about will that rise to around 1 ohm ?
lets say when wired to 1 ohm on my DC 3.5k, when i did a clamp, the lowest ohm i saw was 2.4 ohms at 32hz and it goes up to 5 ohms at my loudest frequency which was 47hz so yeah my 3.5k amp only did 1750 watts to barely 700 at certain frequencies. Your amp is a strong korean amp, as long as you have some electrical upgrades, you can easily handle being wired to 0.5 ohms However I'd say it would be better to just get a more efficient less power hungry sub if you dont want to waste anymore money since your electricals are stock and upgrading them will be $$$$$$$$$$$$$

To know what sub though we need to know your current box specs. tuning frequency, cubic airspace, sq inches of port area. unless you want to do a new box all around and sell the zv4 in its current box.

Yea I wanna stay away from that because high output alternators are expensive for my car. I just want a new sub at this point.

The box is 3.3ft^3. The areo ports are 4"x19". The frequency must be anywhere from 28-32hz. I don't remember.

27 1/2 width, 18 3/4 depth, 14 height, minus 3/4 mdf.
something is seriously wrong with your box... like completely wrong... Port is way too small, box is way too big tuned way too low. If its two 4 inch aeros, it looks a lot better and its workable, however, there's still an issue. It looks like its a side port as well, which is far from optimal.

There is TWO aeroports. Its funny cuz the guy who custom made it was a user on this website. I put my trust in people's recommendation to buy from him. I don't even know anymore. Bout to sell everything, been losing my mind all day with this lol.

Two 4 inch aeros are fine then, you are at 32hz, for now, get yourself a soundqubed hds 312 and cut the port lengths down to 15 inches long and you should be slamming and get some money back doing so.
