Just figure what you want it to be with the hu volume up 3/4 of the way. say 400 wrmsX2ohm=800 sq root=28.28. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifOk... Here is my deal...
I have one (1) 12" Kicker 05CVR124 Dual 4 ohms Voice Coil. It is rated at 400 rms.
I am working on a deal to get a Hifonics BX1000D (while it is more power than I truly need now, it will be perfect in the future if I decide to get another sub).
Now the Hifonics BX1000D is rated at 700 rms x 1 at 2 ohms. This is too much power for my 400 rms sub. Right?
Now, using a multimeter to set the amp, is it possible to restrict the output of the BX1000D enough to be able to use it with my sub? If so, should I aim for 400 watts exactly, or less, or more, or what?
Thanks.
Ok... I got the same voltage that I woudl want...Just figure what you want it to be with the hu volume up 3/4 of the way. say 400 wrmsX2ohm=800 sq root=28.28. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
except at my normal listening volume? Then what do i want at that volumeAnyways, to answer your question, yes, you want 28.3 volts or less ... except at your highest normal listening volume with your normal EQ settings ...
Okay. Thanks. You want to set your head unit to your highest normal listening volume with your normal EQ settings, then set the gain to produce 28.3 volts ...
