*Build Log-18"BTL-KX2500*

maybe build a narrower port that just drops inside the current port?
jus 4 fun

look to me like you got everything coverd.
Nice thinking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The thing about this build that has been the hardest to come up with so far has been the port configuration for swapping them. What screws me over the most is trying to get 100sq in of port inside a box thats only 13.5inches tall on the inside. Oh that and an 18" woofer but thats a whole different story lol.

I spent a solid day a few saturdays ago messing around in CAD and measuring (and some sawzaw cuttin) and came up with the best possible way to do it.

Turned out good for what it is, Ive got a 7.2~7.5 cube enclosure that can be tuned between 32hz and as high as you wanna go, with atleast 100sq in of port. Well 99.xxx, but it can go up to 180 with an external port if I wanted to. So needless to say I have a lot of room to adjust things without having to do much work.

nice vids..and the build quality is nice...u took alot of time and c-ing it from a sketch-up to the real thing is it came out really good

And another to all of the guys on here that inspire me to pour my blood, sweat, and tears into these projects day in and day out. I have to say, car audio is definately an addiction and I will continue to spend all my time and money on it and enjoy it!

Cheers mates! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

Agree to all that mikey i got friends that come by and help me and also people on here that giving me inspiration. and for sure it's an addiction man but if there was a cure for it id tell that person get that sh*t away from me haha.

As far as the rest of my car audio interests go I will be adding in my Alpine 9887 once it comes in this up coming week, and then I will be upgrading the front stage and running active. Two new front stage amps and new mids and tweets. Along with that and Ill fiberglass a new set of pods and do some deadening. Then maybe Ill be satisfied....at least for a little while //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Or until I change my mind again and go bigger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

this is gonna be loud as piss

whats it tuned to?

also my kx belly tends to slap the box a lil on certain freqs. i bought some small foam strips with adhesive on one side and lined the back on the kx with it, got rid of the bad ibrations from the amp. not sure if itll do the same iwht your since you box is pretty solid. but if u get kx belly slap, u knwo what to do....

I wish my friends would help me on mine but Im always doing theres. But nice cant wait you get it metered. And let me get a listen
Hell yeah man! Ill be interested to see what type of numbers this setup will put up. I would guess high 140's, maybe just squeeze out a 150 with a higher tuned port and a burp but it definately wont do it sealed up, window will have to be down for any decent numbers. Although Im not too familiar with USACi and MECA rules. Hell I couldnt even imagine what class I would get stuck in with this setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif However, its built for one purpose and one purpose only. To be the loudest most practical daily driver I could imagine with this vehicle. And this is what I came up with. One day I think I will get one of the new BTL's and run another KX 2500 on it, then it might burp a 150 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
