*Build Log-18"BTL-KX2500*

this is gonna be loud as piss

whats it tuned to?

also my kx belly tends to slap the box a lil on certain freqs. i bought some small foam strips with adhesive on one side and lined the back on the kx with it, got rid of the bad ibrations from the amp. not sure if itll do the same iwht your since you box is pretty solid. but if u get kx belly slap, u knwo what to do....
With the new port its tuned to 34~35hz. Thanks for the advice btw, it seems to be on pretty solid right now but Ill keep an eye out for it. I still havent added the bracing inside the enclosure yet. Running one 2x2 from the front to the back, and top to the bottom.

BTW it already was very very loud for me. The loudest setup I have had by far. I didnt realize off the bat but learned very quickly. I honestly didnt expect this much out of it, its by far exceeded all of my expectations. The thing that amazes me the most is that through the times I have had it in a listened to it I have steadily been making progress and improving on it so it just keeps getting better and better. So happy with my investment!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif Everything as far as the amps and sub go will be secured with special headed screws so they wont be able to be pulled out. Plus it is tinted, will be re-tinted soon. A new alarm will be added this summer once I finish it up.

Also, for those of you that dont know exactly how this is supposed to turn out......there will be another beaunty panel added over the front one (which already covers everything) that will be supported up with threaded rod. I like to call this baffle the 'grill' since it will be covered in grill cloth and have a very extra large cut out in it for the sub and port. This way it will cover everything and for the most part look just like a two seater with nothing in the back but carpeted panels, and then the grill over the front of it.

You will see once its finished, Ive had the idea in my head forever its just hard to explain it lol.

Its gonna be awesome when I put the alarm in it that I plan on. Im going to take the advice of some of the members on here and add a few 125db sirens in the trunk and under the hood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

With that and the measures I have already and still plan on taking for theft prevention, it will be interesting to see what need be theives will try and do. The car is parked right outside my bedroom window at home, right outside my office window at work, and in the parking lot right near my classes up at school so I pretty much always have my eye on it anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW who can give me some links to some good alarm systems to look into. I guess I should get something together soon rather than later.....

edit- The more I think about it the more I worry so **** it, Im gonna order one off line and put it in before I start putting more high end equipment in this thing. Im just picturing my brand new 9887 gettin jacked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

I was just looking at a Python on ebay, I think Im just gonna pick it up and a couple extra sirens. Probably going to need some help from someone on wiring the basics of it since Ive never done it before..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

lol, you ever seen how many wires come in an alarm box?

i pay proffesionals to instal my alarms.

no point in having it if it doesnt work correctly.

and theives might not try to remove the equipment,

they might just take the whole car,

IF they can start it.?

dont buy a cheap alarm. theives know how to get round em, its definately worth spending moneies on a good alarm

if you want to keep you chit for more than 2 months?

any theif within 2000 feet will know whats up with your ride.

ive heard of whole installs getting jacked in 45 seconds by a crew of 2 or 3 guys,

they pull up, they do it, they gone, and so is your chitz.

Python is made by DEI or am I wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I thought they were basically the same alarms as the Viper counterparts that are manufactured by DEI as well. I definately dont plan on coping out on the alarm if thats what you think I mean.........

I realize its a big job to wire up a complete alarm system which is why Ive never done it before. But I would rather be told from experience pro's how to do it and doing in myself. I know I am more than capable of handling it if instructed the basics of how to. I already have a good idea of what I would have to wire up for the sensors, locks, ect. But the engine cut-off and such would be another story and thats where I would need help.

Theres just no way in hell I would take my car somewhere and have someone work on it for me. Unless I absolutely had to for some reason, but I would much rather be atleast involved. I dont like people messing with my stuff without seeing what they are doing. Plus, if I do it myself I will KNOW its done right. Soldered connections and properly ran ect.

Theres just not any shops around here that I could trust to work on it, or feel comfortable for that matter. And I just like the added security of knowing its right.

I wanted to get some work done today but Im stuck without any supplies to do anything. I need a few more fasteners, and another sheet of MDF. Probably gonna wait until this weekend to finish it up since I get payed this week.

I think I am going to re-cut the front beauty panel since its not completely flush at the top. Carpet would hide it but I want it to be perfect so I think Im gonna cut a new one. I can use the old sheet for the false floor in the back also.

So far this is what I have left to do:

-Re-cut front panel

-Cut two small pieces for under the rear deck

-Cut a piece for the front of the dance floor

-Cut the false floor

-Bolt in the port

-Pull all of the panels back out

-Wrap everything with black carpet

-Put it all back in

Then in the next few weeks Ill have to get some vinyl, then pull everthing out again and re-wrap all the panels with vinyl.

Gettin there........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
