bgowdy's future plan vehicle/build

You're talking about wasting 600$ (or close to it) of 4 junk tier subs I'm saying drop the same money into 1 or 2 good subs. I've seen some off these low tier subs disassembled and they're really pathetic. Cheap parts, shoddy build quality, likely no actual R&D. I have never not regretted buying low tier audio.... and I'm saying never just in case I can remember something cheap that I bought that actually performed well because at the moment I can't think of anything cheap that I wasn't happier to get rid of than I was to get it installed.
Also 24hz worth of decent bandwidth out of subs is a disaster IMO. If you're mostly just trying to meter it's fair I guess but for just being able to throw a variety of music at it and be loud/sound good that's just not very good.
As far as cheap equipment goes, my amp I would say is considered cheap, rated 3k and will pretty much do its rated clean with good electrical, does .5 daily no issues and guys burp .25 with them. It's never protected or got hot running .5 daily since I've had it and it has 265-275 price tag on it Currently.

DD 1500 has 2 inch coils.

I've seen a few of those things blow up locally and saw a guy swap out 4 of those for 2 AB 500.1's gain almost 3dB. If you feel that level of performance and rate of failure is OK than good luck to you with that. Follow your dreams.

Equipment fails, it happens. I've seen Sundown, ALOT of American Bass amp, Flatlyne, Soundqubed, II had Crescendo bc3500 fail on me after having it for 3 days and i had a power plant electrical system and it was scoped clean, and i could go on. Hell I watched dd m4 catch fire running at 1 ohm. Stuff happens to all equipment, some more then others. It probably has a fail rate is equal as any other when it comes to failing because "it was the amps fault". The issue is alot of it user related miss use but then blame the company for their error.

Good for him though, but you know as well as anyone that no amp performs the same in all setups. To many variables to involve. In that case yes the ABs must have made more power, and likely more efficient. Where were the ABs wire to? Also the ABs do more then rated, they are rated 6500 at 1ohm I believe so who knows how much power they were making.

But either way doesn't make the other amp bad. If the Soundstream s were wire to 1 ohm they are rated 2500 each. The ABs make more power at 1 ohm

I've seen 2 brand new DD Z amps fry at a show before, first burp in the lanes. Anything can fail.

Is this going somewhere or should I start a pot of tea ?

Number 1 thing I've learned from over the years on forums is that everything is junk, trash. huggers be hugging and you have stupid people to deal with.

I really only compute information from people who have proven knowledgeable and not rant monsters on here or facebook. Take what most people say with a grain of salt.

Right I do take most info that way, in not saying he is not knowledgeable because I've seen him post plenty of good info in threads. I'm not trying sound like a d!ck I'm just have my own opinion on this subject

Not saying him. Just in general.

Oh I see... Regardless to what anyone says I will make my own choice and deal with it. I do like thoughts but I don't like being pretty much told if I don't spend more money then it will junk...

I agree however the redline 700 and 800 aren't bad subs either. I've heard they're like upgraded HDC 3 / 4s respectively
these have been mention a few times but no one has ever said a price on them

You'll have to go to a dealer or if there are none local (check the dealer locator) call DD directly and they'll work something out with you. Price will be different at each dealer
