Heroes are remembered, but legends never die
So i have been thinking about what i want to do next. I was going to get another car and do it a trunk build. Since i made that plan i have thought and want to get another SUV and do a VERY budget 4 12" build """NO WALL""". Lower power but capable subs and 3kw on tap(may upgrade to 4k at most but probably not). This way i dont have to spend a bunch money over killing my electrical. I have my 3k in my honda on the 80a alt and it does ok with 1 extra battery in the back.

I have been looking at SUVs a bit. My top choice so far is the 4dr Blazer, Bravada, Envoy, or jimmy(they are the same vehicle of course) due to they a pretty reliable, parts are easy to find, cheap to get, and the vehicle is pretty easy to work on also the gas milage isnt all that bad(i had a 95 blazer before and mine got about 18/23 town/hgwy.

I liked the Isuzu Rodeo until i read about all of the bad reviews on them. Then i looked at Explorers and they are a little harder to get loud and then they dont have the best reviews(though i know theres always complainers). So im curious of what other choices are there that are good cheap SUVs use?

As far as subs i have been looking at the SQ HDS2-12 Dual 2's and AB XD12 Dual 2's, will be wired to .5ohm Final load daily(This is the price range that i will looking so keep the if you save $ you can get sub x etc to yourself)

The box will be NO WALL subs up port back.

So what are some other good SUV's and opinions on Hds2-12 D2's vs XD12 D2's

I don't know about that.

That's a pretty good P&P number but more than anything else, that just shows how flimsy the cars are lol.

Nearly any mid to full size SUV will work for what it sounds like you want. I'm biased towards Tahoes but that's because I have one that gets loud with low cone area.

Rather than run at .5 why not just get a brazilian amp that will be more efficient and still budget friendly and run at 1 or 2 ohm? Budget seems to be a big concern and running 3k at .5 is going to require some money to be dropped into electrical that could be otherwise avoided. The DSP3k I have for sale right now worked great on my stock 130a alt with a Northstar under the hood and one in the back. I'd still recommend a HO alt but it's not absolutely necessary..

Had an 02 blazer. If your trying to keep it cargo area below Window line I don't think you will have enough room for 4 12's. I switched to an 03 Yukon with the 4.8l and I get better mileage than the blazer. The blazer can probably do well with a pair of 12's on 3k . If you want to run 4 12's get a bigger suv.

My amp honeslty does not pull current like you would think at .5(to me atleast) i figure it would be worse. Also i dont want to invest the extra money into getting a different amp. i got mine for like $200 and is a tank for it to be a budget and makes good power. Not a Soundstream Hugger, this particular one is just a solid overall performer.

dont get me wrong when i run full tilt and at 2k rpms right now i drop to about 11.8-12v which is not good but i very RARELY EVER run full tilt. Ive only done it once and that was just to burp it once to meter it. Other wise im playing 1/2 tilt at most and im at a steady 13v doing that.

With the blazer given they are easy to find big alts for i would probably get one for sure. May not be a huge one but about 160-200 should be fine depending. i dont want a tahoe, alittle on the large side for me.

240a without a hairpin is usually pretty cheap for common cases and that would be plenty. And I didn't realize you already had the 3k, reading > me. That'll work in that case.

Have you talked to a DD dealer about the redline series? They're more affordable than the prices posted on the site and they perform pretty **** good, think of them as soundqubed's big brother (or dad in this case)

i never said i was just trying to stay under window line, im not to worried about that honestly. I only compete on every now and then, and the orgs i do compete do go on window line. They use below back headrest(FCBC org) and box over 25" tall is considered a wall(Iasca

Honeslty the 105a that they come with stock would probably do a wonder right now lol. The 80a sort of keeps up with just one ever agm in back. Yea i already have the 3k.

yes i know, DD and SQ are father son owned. I just cant see the DD's being in the same price range as the SQ. i dont have any dealers near me so its hard finding one. Also i haae no idea what redline to look at in comparison.

My goal with this is really just a loud daily driver. Dont get me wrong i do compete from time to time for fun, not really to win titles though. I would be happy with a 148db, i see that as doable seeing ive seen other similar setups do 50+ with 4-12s.
