yea i actually went and changed that post because i seen the 2" VC lol.... Im pretty certain that for me its going to be the SQ hds2 12 or The AB Xd12 unless something else is brought to my attention or get a good deal on 4 12s lol.I'd be embarrassed to run Lanzar though, lol.
Their opti amps were good for budget, but the brand name has a negative image

Im trying to keep my budget low and keep track of what ive spent and then meter, demo etc lol.... i like to keep track of the money vs numbers because people always say you stuffs crap because i didnt spend x amount of $. My last 3 builds have been under $500 for everything but have been repectable on the meter
i had no idea they had 2" coils. Ive read a few times that they are decent subs for the money. But the 2" coil is really scary. 2.5 is scary enough2" coils???? lmao
Yeah, your numbers have been good. I'm not saying they aren't
I'd run SA's, which have 2.5" coilsi had no idea they had 2" coils. Ive read a few times that they are decent subs for the money. But the 2" coil is really scary. 2.5 is scary enough
I wouldn't run anything less than the 3500 series, and that's if I want reasonably priced sound qualityDD 1500 has 2 inch coils.
Yep, that's what I'm saying though. The opti's are fineSome optidrive amps have the same boards as VFL amps from what I was told. The upper line not lower line
I try, lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifWell.....ain't you the DD snob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
You're talking about wasting 600$ (or close to it) of 4 junk tier subs I'm saying drop the same money into 1 or 2 good subs. I've seen some off these low tier subs disassembled and they're really pathetic. Cheap parts, shoddy build quality, likely no actual R&D. I have never not regretted buying low tier audio.... and I'm saying never just in case I can remember something cheap that I bought that actually performed well because at the moment I can't think of anything cheap that I wasn't happier to get rid of than I was to get it installed. To me the definition of a good sub/setup is one that makes the user happy what they can afford.(not saying im broke i just dont like spending money). I know wrong hobby right. I like spending as little as possible to see how good i can make it sound and how loud i can get it to meter. My most expensive build i have ever had was only 4-10ths louder then one of my cheap ones. I had a bit of money in that build and did a 148, but with WAY less power and WAY less money is actually within .4 from it.
I understand thats"Your Opinion" and I respect that. Doesnt mean the next person will think the same. 24hz of bandwidth to YOU may be a disaster, but to me I'm perfectly happy with it. I also never stated that was all the bandwidth it had, I said it plays there, however ive never played below above those hz to see. Givin my box is to big I don't want to push if any further to keep the sub happy. But that is basically what I listen to so why worry if it has any moreYou're talking about wasting 600$ (or close to it) of 4 junk tier subs I'm saying drop the same money into 1 or 2 good subs. Also 24hz worth of decent bandwidth out of subs is a disaster IMO. If you're mostly just trying to meter it's fair I guess but for just being able to throw a variety of music at it and be loud/sound good that's just not very good.
I wouldn't touch anything DD lower than 3500 series. 35's are very nice for 2.5" coil woofer though.DD 1500 has 2 inch coils.
It's been a long time since Opti amps have been a thing on forums. They used to throw a couple decent boards in their heatsinks but it's such an all around junk brand you KNOW it's a gamble. Some optidrive amps have the same boards as VFL amps from what I was told. The upper line not lower line
