Was planning to use 3/8"
I realllly hate arc welding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
I was leaning towards the 220v one I linked, because the uncle that I'm living with has a 220v outlet a foot away from the opening of his garage (for his giant shop air compressor). The 220v is only a 90 amp welder though. Anybody know if that would be enough for 3/8 steel?
Also, I don't like the fact that they don't have gas. Inert gas protects the weld, as far as I understand.
It'll be thre frame of my box so I only have to use a layer or two of 3/4 birch ply. It will also allow me to easily swap baffles.
