Re-check my post.thats what im doing.. i was asking a question.. was i wrong?

ok thanks.. someone posted in that thread saying that if my battery is having trouble running the car and the audio system a second battery wont do anything.. and that i should get a new alternator instead.. is this true?Re-check my post.
You arent wrong, but the things you are asking have been posted about thousands of times in the past and have been discussed to the bitter end.
I just hate seeing that dead horse take another beating.

its completely dead.. cant even unlock the car with my remote.. car might make 2 clicks when i try to start it if im lucky then will do nothing.I'd check the alt with a DMM. Stereo full volume, headlights and heater on and see how bad it's dropping. You could be constantly draining the batt and not giving it a chance to recharge, then starting the car gives it a huge hit and it dies.
Does the car try to crank at all or is it completely dead when it happens?
I can do the alt for you if you get one, but I'd consider a bigger batt first. Honestly that's not a ton of power, so a good batt up front with BIG3 should be all that's needed...
ill say just get a new alt and new batts...and see whats up..but it suxs when that happens...that happened to me one time with my chevy TB when my battery died..it couldnt even lock up with the remote....its completely dead.. cant even unlock the car with my remote.. car might make 2 clicks when i try to start it if im lucky then will do nothing.
ya i play full tilt till i shut it off.. this happened about 3 weeks ago so they gave me a brand new battery thinking that was the problem but it happened again.. twice.. battery is 3 weeks old maxare you playing it full tilt right up until you shut it off? How old is the batt as it might not be taking a charge...
1.amp is ******* to much juice to the bat.ya i play full tilt till i shut it off.. this happened about 3 weeks ago so they gave me a brand new battery thinking that was the problem but it happened again.. twice.. battery is 3 weeks old max
ya but id hate to get a new alt and battery and have that not be the problem.. i dont understand why the dealership hasnt found any kind of problemill say just get a new alt and new batts...and see whats up..but it suxs when that happens...that happened to me one time with my chevy TB when my battery died..it couldnt even lock up with the remote....
it does have an alarm but ive never had a problem with my car until recently.. and the most recent thing ive done is i installed my system.. so im banking on the fact that thats gotta be the source of my problemI didn't see if you have an alarm or not. My old car I bought used, I starting having all kinds of crazy electrical problems with it. I would drive down the highway at night and bam the whole car would shut down. I would be coasting down the highway at 55 in the dark. Took it to about 5 different mechanics, last one finally figured it out. Apparently the car had an alarm in it, and all the vehicles power was running through it, consequently it was shorting out. So when the mechanic took the brain and anything else related to the alarm out, all was right again![]()
yea i see what you mean....have they complety checked your car 100%??..ya but id hate to get a new alt and battery and have that not be the problem.. i dont understand why the dealership hasnt found any kind of problem
