WTF.. car problem has to be audio related

that looks like its not drawing too much power...maybe check your alt...its maybe dying already and its time for a new one...thats the only thing i could think of right now...
ive pretty much ruled out the alternator as the problem considering ive taken it to the dealer THREE times and if they missed a faulty alternator all three times then none of them deserve to work there anymore.

When you get it back, unhook the sub amp and drive around for a week or so...
definitely am going to.

let the battery recharge after playing it could be just killing the battery
are you saying to turn off the stereo early before i get somewhere and letting the battery charge up? if so id rather just get it fixed the right way so i can just listen to music whenever i want

how much would the big 3 help?

3.1, 3.4, 3.8 liters should all have 105-110 amp alts. I am running a 4 gauge alt wire on my car with the 3.4 and it got rid of my light dimming.
i have a 3.8l.. im pretty sure i read somewhere i have a 110 amp alternator.. what exactly is dimming? i know its when the lights dim but do they dim when the bass hits or do they stay dim the whole time? ive noticed my headlights were weaker after i hooked up my system.. is that "dimming"?

i doubt the BIG III would help...but try it..you never know..maybe it will

dimming also comes from when you role up your windows..

and about the headlights dimming when you hooked up your system..maybe you didnt wire it right and theres a problem somewhere...

My lights would dim after having the heater on full blast, the rear defroster on, and playing music full tilt. Voltage would drop to 13.9(I know, not that low) on low notes. with just the 4ga. alt wire, voltage stays at 14.45.

ive tried to find the alternator size before but couldnt.. an its an ac delco battery.. not sure of size i dont have the car with me to look.. they are keeping it another day to make sure nothings wrong

i thought stock electrical could handle 800-900 rms.. am i wrong?
Not all cars are the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ok so say i am getting voltage drops.. what does that mean and how does it relate to the fact that my car keeps dying?

do i need a better battery or alternator or do i need to do the big 3 or what.

Voltage dropping is just like someone losing weight

They are taking in less calories than they burn.

You system is eating more current than the Alternator can produce, therefore effectively LOSING voltage from your battery.

Lamest metaphor ever.

OP: Do big 3, get a new battery.

There are a number of ways to effectively fix your problem.

I would start by picking up as big of a Deep Cycle battery as you can afford and upgrade your wiring in the same respect. Go as big as you can afford, and make sure your grounds are bare, clean, and well secured.

Upgrading the Big 3 and your Battery should cure your issues, but if you really want a true solution that gives you some safe headroom, upgrading to a higher output alternator would be the only option.

was really trying to avoid getting a new battery.. but i guess ill have to.. ill put it in the back but what do i do? just connect the positive from the front battery to the positive of the battery in back with 1/0 and then ground out the new battery in back?
