Would a Alpine MRP-M500 be able to power two 12" P2s?

yes, p2's are 250rms each, but you got to make sure you have it wired to the right ohm load to push them to there full potential

go with the 187's, trust me man you will love them, i am running 4 12's at 500 watts each, in a 8 foot^3 @ 28hz, and they are awesome!

oh and they are made in alabama, if your in nashville it is only like 2 hours at the very most from you to nicks shop.

went to best buy the other day. They carry the P1's and P2's and had them on display. Both p1's and p2's had cracked cones due to the plastic they're made of.

or if you have the money and like fosgate gear, get a fosgate T1. Either of those would be great with 500 watts

Save your money and get quality subs. As i know you are gonna say well im just getting these for now then im gonna get what i want. DONT. Just save and get good subs and a amp and go from there. here are some good brands to research: Fi, RE, Sundown, Audioque, RD, DC, Orion, just to name a few
