which sub setup

Hey, i was looking for a sub for my bedroom( its a 16 by 12 room, if that helps any). I was looking at the rl-i 10 or http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=299-660. or http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-404. And other similar priced subs. I will get whatever plate amp the sub requires.

Any suggestions? I dont know how big of sub i need it that size of room.

It will still work fine. If in doubt, make the box a little larger than recommended to increase efficiency.

sealed? ported? what kind of port? and how much larger

do i need a crossover? or anything other than a plate amp and a sub and a box. thanks for all the help

The crossover is built onboard the plate amp.

Porting it would be a good idea, to get the most out of 250W...tune very low, 20-25Hz. You'll have to run the T/S params through a box calculator to get the net enclosure volume and port lengths.

i'd design my own personally. i would tune the 12" at 20 even.

23Hz should be fine. I doubt dropping the tuning 3Hz is going to be worth redesigning the box.

If you go with that circular port design though, I would recommend Aeroports to reduce chuffing...

I would use their printed specs, if going with their enclosure...no need to make it bigger in that case.

If you were to lower the tuning frequency, you'd need to compensate enclosure volume accordingly.
