thanks bro ill give it a shot. ill let you know how everything goesTry disconnecting your big 3, 1 wire at a time. Test to see if it does it after you remove each one. After it stops, focus on the last wire you disconnected. It's the culprit.
the main reason that this happens, with a new alt, is cuz it puts alot more strain on your engine... and thats really noticeable at idle.... sometimes it just takes your ecu a lil while to "learn" a new fuel map... and sometimes it can just be a pre-exisiting condition, that has only become noticeable with the extra load on the engine..Dude I'm going thru the same ****. Started a little bit ago but was not a big deal tip now
Got a brand new 220 amp dbelectrical alternator today and put it in and it does the same ****. Removed all my big 3 and it did nothing
Tell me this
If you come to an idle in drive like at a stop sign, does the voltage drop?
If so, what if you put it in park or neutral?
When I idle in drive my voltage drops terrible, lights dim..when I put it in park it all goes right back up to normal
Sounds light that could be a possibility, the pully on the alternator might be a little larger.. I have read about people breaking the alts in too, but it had already done this with my old alternator (12 year old 130 amp)the main reason that this happens, with a new alt, is cuz it puts alot more strain on your engine... and thats really noticeable at idle.... sometimes it just takes your ecu a lil while to "learn" a new fuel map... and sometimes it can just be a pre-exisiting condition, that has only become noticeable with the extra load on the engine..
i would give it a few days, and see if it corrects itself, and if not, start by checking your plugs for fouling (as they will usually give you a sign of there being a fuel problem)
