can anyone help me out i recently got a new alternator and now my voltage is dropping and not being able to run properly i know it’s because it has lower amps i found that out but is there another way i can get power to my subs without buying a better alternator i’ve heard of capacitors but im not sure if this will help with my situation anything helps thank you👍🏽 i also heard of a second battery but i’m unsure what will keep that battery charged and be capable to play the sound system

  1. Not right now
My first action would be to get a more powerful alternator, unless one is not available. The dual battery system needs a way to charge both the main starting battery and the auxiliary battery. The most common method is through the vehicle’s alternator. When the engine is running, the alternator generates electricity and charges both batteries. The isolator ensures that the main battery receives priority charging, and once it’s sufficiently charged, the excess power goes to charging the auxiliary battery. Good luck.

Does it fall below 14.2 or 14.4 volts reading on the car battery when engine is on? The Radio when turned on already requires about 0.000045 volts to keep those mosfets on all the time. This was measured for a 9 volt battery. So not a lot of positive or negative supply voltage to keep the radio on. Anything else in your system that might be eating up the volts?

But if you take the Kv and multiply by the voltage, you'll get the RPM. However, make sure you're not multiplying the kV because that is a measurement of voltage, while Kv is the rotations per minute per volt.

Did you purchase an alternator that provides less amps than the factory unit?
