two sub setup d1 vs d2

I currently have one 15" d1 sub and i was thinking bout pruchasing a second... would they both have to be d2 subs to wire them up or will (2) d1 subs work?

if so i would have to send my sub back to have them switch it to a d2 .. is this the same as a recone through Fi Audio?

I assume you are talking about voice coil configuration...

if so, then you need both to be the same configuration

Yes voicecoils. so if i have (2) dual 1 subs then i wont have any problems wiring them up?

Is there some advantage to wiring (2) dual 2 subs vs

(2) dual 1 subs

different configurations give you different resistance options

2 dual 2ohm subs can be wired to .5, 2 or 8ohm

2 dual 1ohm subs can be wired to 1ohm or 4ohm
