sub wring problem, sub moving in instead of out

I have my sub wired right and and all hooked up correctly and there are no settings on my HU to make my sub do this it keeps moving in on bass notes instead of out. What could the problem be?

the sub will move in and out.

(unless your bass note is 20hz and it's 1/20 of a second long, but it's not)

in phase or out of phase, you're just perceiving it to move only one direction.

EDIT: here's a good test.

quickly touch a 9V battery to the sub.

you should see it more in or out.

then reverse the polarity of the battery, it should move the opposite direction.

no this is moving in constantly like on a low bass note the sub will go in so far u can see the surround wrinkle

the terminal isnt broke just the plastic mounting it on the sub is cracked a little it still gets a connection

because its just a cosmetic flaw

did the 9v test and when + and - are matched up the sub moves out but moves in when reversed

Maybe the connection is rubbing against the basket every now and then?
