Sub towards backseat?

Yesterday, a friend and I were bored so we decided to move my sub backwards so it faces the backseats of my trunked car. It sounds alot different and I don't know if I like it. I can hear the bass better but it feels like it's not as punchy.

Spl wise is it any different? Anyone on here have theirs facing towards backseats?

If the waves can hit a wall about two feet away, and bounce back you will have a much better sound than simply turning it towards the backseat. You are muffling your subs........Think about if you were singing and somebody had a hand in front of your mouth, your voice wouldn't project very far. The same idea goes with your subs. They need some space for optimal performance.

My car is much louder with sub facing trunk and it also rattles more. My next box will face forward but be sealed off from the trunk. We will see how it works I guess.
