(a) Your remote activation wire will be the smallest cable you run.
(b) Amp needs both power and ground and yes, it gets the power from your battery.
© There are only a handful of amps that will accept power cable as large as 1/0awg directly and those that will are going to have output levels that are likely higher than anything you might need at your experience level.
(d) The size of power cable you need will be entirely dependant on how much continuous power the amp or amps you decide to use will output.
