Okay I did it agen. I destroyed another sub. This time it was a modified RE SE 15. I must been feeding over 1200 watts into this sucker so much that I toastesd one Coil. I mean when I took the sub out the enire coil was in pieces in the box and the sub , i've never seen anything that looked like that ever!!!

Man I need something that can keep up with my JBLamp!!

get u a solox

so would a stroker...

personally I would feed it to my vacuum cleaner for faster result //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or you could just try keeping the sub within it's mechanical limits......Even if your amp will produce 1200w, there's no need to feed a sub more power than what it will take.

not only that oi would suggest

1. you purchase a driver which can withstand the power of your jbl 1200.1

2. dont have the gains so high

3. maybe try a smaller sealed box that way the sub's suspension will have a little more protection

U know what the funny thing was, My gains were only at a quarter and my bass boost was less than one third.

No I think I'm just crazy and crave power

No, I think that maybe mommy and daddy are paying for your equipment. I personally don't think it's funny when I destroy something I paid my hard-earned money for.....

I just bought a modded SE for myself, and at $230, I plan to keep it as long as I can.

i suggest putting a little more thought into the enclosure design. It's amazing what can happen to a sub in a poorly designed enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Lone Ranger I don't mean to sound like an ass, but u need to sux a &*(@. If you read my profile you would kno that I'm not some little itty bitty baby that Mommy and Daddy needs to take care of. I mean who the F*&^ are you to tell me shyt like that. I've been into car audio for more than 10 years now, u know back when you were proly wearing diapers.

I've worked hard for my shyt, I finshed high school spent 4 years in University busting my ass off. Worked for minimun wage after I graduated and then got a kick ass job that pays me very very well. Hell I'm being paid right now as we speak to reply to you. That's why I can afford to blow a speaker, cuz I can buy a new one right now or have mine repaired.

I have bills to pay, a mortage to keep and a child to feed, so don't u ever try to say that shyt about me. You don't kno me so don't say a word.....frig u should just apologize.

i think a xxx would do.
i'd recommend keeping the bass boost off. tends to cause some distortion.
Yeah i think maybe I'll go with a XXX or a Brahma or just try and get the sub recoiled. The other coil is still working

1200.1's are known to do funny things at times ... but playing volume master doesn't help things either. A Brahma or XXX would be fine ... most subs would be with proper care. Enclosure size is critical as well.

I would laugh my ass off if you were running that 1200.1 with a ported box and no subsonic filter ...

Oh, and act your age, no your shoe size //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

HEEHAW HEEEHAW HEEEEHAW

(it's way more effective when i actually make the sound, rather than typing it)

I've been doing this for about half the time you have, and I've already figured out that you get a lot more use out of equipment that you don't abuse in a futile attempt at compensating for your lacking install and enclosure building abilities.

Wow....all that typing gone to waste....I didn't remember asking if I could write an A&E Biography on you.

Sounds to me with all those unpaid bills and hungry kids, you'd be a little nicer to your expensive audio components. I'm a 21 year old with no kids, few bills and a whole lot of income. I take good care of my stuff simply because I don't want to have to buy a new sub every year.

As for your apology

HOW BOUT YOU EAT MY ASS

Okay let's try and do this your style and see how it goes shall we

And the braying begins!HEEHAW HEEEHAW HEEEEHAW

That's a way kewl intro. Your laughing so that must mean your excited about what you were going to reply...is this your first human contact outside your family...come on now don't be shy.

You know what..about five years ago I would've said the same thing....but then agen that was five years ago. Now a days I try many different enclosures and many different subs and configs in a year. I'm always trying to push the envelope with my stuff. It maybe okay fer u to play it safe an operate everything within a well controlled environment, knowing all the limits of your equipment being mitculous in not trying to exceed those paramenters.

After being in this stuff for such a long time, safe gets a bit borning. 5 years ago I was not blowing up subs like I am now and back then I could have the same sytem for a whole year or two.... 5 years ago I was also not hitting high 150's either.

Wow....all that typing gone to waste....I didn't remember asking if I could write an A&E Biography on you.

How was it gone to waste. I was just trying to prove a point which I must've gotten across since your replied with a speech of your own.

Boooi you like to invent stuff...neva said my bills were unpaid nor my kid was hungry, just said I had them to consider, but yet I still can afford a lot of car audio.

Hell I got an idea, Give me your paypal address and I'll buy your RE SE off ya for $250.00 so you can make a little profit. You send it to me I ripp out the cone and coil fer ya, piss in it and mail it back to you and you can bump it in your vechs..Hey that's not a bad idea eh??

As for your apology

HOW BOUT YOU EAT MY ASS

If I was 2 do that..you might get to excited and start proposing to me an shyt...I mean it seems like your a lonely guy to talk big speech infront of your computer. You are of course the LONERANGER

*LoneRanger grabs his sac and exits with a contemptful grin*
Listen, I don't want to make trouble or start a post war but you started it, talking shyt aboot me without even knowing what i was aboot. I'm obviously going to reply to some1 taking a shot at me and I did. It's obviously clear that we have two different philosphies on the way we deal with our Car Audio, there's nothing wrong with that, but don't make assumptions about me by the way I conduct my business.

To end it all, I'll just say that it's your money and if you want to use it to buy subs and destroy them, that's your business.

However, you don't have to destroy something to "push it to it's limits". I know competitors who have set multiple records with the same equipment for several years simply because they have the good common sense not to play volume master and blow their **** up.

I've probably built and tested more enclosures in the past six months than you have in your whole 10 years of car audio experience......and strangely enough, i did it without breaking anything.

PS: If you're hitting high 150's, i'll eat my f***ing SE with ketchup.

ya know, all this wealth and poverty thing should be over and done with.

Does anyone wanna buy my 7 year subs for $300? Prove thtat you've got money, oh yeah, and get it over with. What good does that prove? Jack...

Stop it, the both of ya...

P.S. I would have to lean a bit towards loneranger on this one, drasik, you should treat your belongings with respect, especially with car audio products, there are a lot of people here who work to get legacy amps and L7's (and some who later boasts that it's really a solox)
