Sub cutout

if i cut out a 12-12 1/2 inch hole that would be to big right.....isnt 12 inches from end to end of the ring........also could i make a ring to go on the inside so the sub would sit flush to the box?

btw this is for 2 12in. Type X's

any help is apriciated........I AM A N00B at building boxes lol

you'll need a 9.1" diameter. 4.55" radius.

just becuase it is a 12" sub dont mean you'll need to make a sub cutout of 12". your sub will end up just sink in the hole.

Radius is half the circle Diam. is the full distance accross the circle....

so would i cut the first baffle out at 12inches? then the second one at 9.5?

Yeah, the first cutout is for the sub to mount in then the second baffle needs to go around the sub so it needs to be 12 inches. I would go a little bigger than 12 though, maybe 13 or so. its easier to cut, i suppose, with the radius then diameter... just use a thin cardboard paper and make two points, 4.55" radius in between, and DRAW!
