Sprint Sero Plan open signup

They wouldn't change ours over, so I am going to cancel the plan. I can cancel the one line since it was free for no fee. We will just sell my wife's moto Q and use that money to pay the cancellation fee

I spoke to 5 diff reps yesterday....the first 4 didnt know wtf they were doing

Keep at it...I spent a few hours on the phone with about 5 different CS reps, then finally asked to speak with retentions. If you're polite and persistent, retentions will help you out a lot. For the most part, it doesn't seem as if the regular Sprint CS reps know anything about the SERO plan. The guy I got in retentions was familiar with the plan, but didn't know all the much about it- and he hooked me up, big time. Try to do what I did- talk to retentions, tell them you want to cut down your monthly costs, and planned on having someone take over your contract, and switching to another provider. Tell them you came across the SERO program, and you inquired to customer service, but were told that you cannot get on the plan. I pretty much did this while being extremely polite to him, and he helped me out a lot.

UPDATE:

Apparently my $100 rebate got shot down, even though Retentions told me I'd get the rebate. I shot an email to the guy at Ecare that helped me the first time around, hopefully he comes through for me again..

Here's the email:

Angel,

I've had my new Sprint phone now for 3 months, and

have a few issues with both the phone, as well as my

rebate.

When I placed my order through Retentions over the

phone, I was insured that I would receive the $100

mail-in rebate when submitted. I promptly submitted

my rebate form, included all of the necessary

information, and approximately two weeks after

submission, I received an email from Sprint claiming

that my rebate had been received, and my tracking

number for the rebate is 82916179. Last week, I

checked the status of my rebate on the Sprint website,

and learned that I was not eligible for the rebate,

because my phone hadn't been active for 22 months

prior. My gripe is that Retentions confirmed with me

several times over the phone that I would be receiving

the rebate.

On to my other issue, the phone. I have a Moto Q, and

I have several problems with it. Firstly, It

frequently drops calls, and has no service in areas

where my old Sprint phone had perfect service. The

phone itself is very slow, and laggy, even after I

clear all running applications in the Task Manager.

The battery life is also poor- I rarely make it a full

day without having to charge the phone, and I do not

heavily use my phone. I've done some research on this

phone, and read some reviews, and it seems that these

problems are recurring with this specific model. I

was wondering if it is possible to exchange my phone

for another PDA-phone. I'm interested in the HTC

Touch, and the HTC Mogul.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's the response they sent me:

Dear John,

Thank you for your reply.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to phone

not working properly.

I have reviewed the account and noticed that Motorola was activated on

the account as of August 20, 2007. Therefore, the handset is under

the Manufacture warranty.

I have discussed the case with my supervisor and convince him to offer

you Htc touch phone in replacement of Motorola Q under the manufacture

warranty.

The current price for HTC Touch is $499.99 and the Motorola Q activated

on the account is $449.99. Therefore, you are required to pay only

$50.00.

However, you have not received the rebate of $100.00. For that, I will

apply the service credit of $50.00 to your account and remaining

$50.00 will cover the phone cost. It means the phone will cost you free.

Please let me know if you want to replace the phone, I will proceed

your request and will order the handset for you from here.

Thank you for contacting Sprint, we were happy to assist you. Please

feel free to write back if you have any other questions. Have a great

day!

Dain M.

I may check out sprint. I want one of those phones that can go over the internet so I can trade stocks on etrade. I tried to explain that to the folks at t-mobile and they don't understand what I am asking.

Do you have an outstanding balance?
Well the thing is, I had a credit of like $150 in my account when I broke my contract. I'm pretty sure I don't have an outstanding balance, but then again I don't know how much it costs to break a contract. Anyways, I got a letter in the mail a few weeks later after I tried to sign up for it saying I couldn't sign up for SERO... or something like that. I then went to the Sprint store and talked to some jack@ss who said I needed to know somebody who worked for Sprint's email, address, phone number to be eligible for SERO... blah blah blah.

Randy.. it just sounds like you have good people skills //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The ETF is $200, but I'm not sure what it was when you went out of contract.

You tried to sign up online on the Sero site? You shouldn't have a problem doing it online, plus I think there's still an online code for $50 off...

It's not that I have good people skills (I do, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif), but it's just persistence and being calm and understanding with them. If you call up flipping out, or with an attitude, they won't go out of their way to help you out like that have for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Everything was all good until I filled out all of my personal info and hit next. I shall give them a call. Right now I'm paying over double that price for the same exact thing. Perhaps I should call the retentions department and see if I still owe a balance
